These were somewhat of a disappointment.
We bought them at Farm Boy in Peterborough, they were on sale for $2.99 and contain 40 pieces. I am glad we decided to cook some tonight and try them out, instead of waiting until we had company over. They look delicious on the box, but it only had directions for deep frying. I did inquire at the store and the clerk said it was okay to cook them in the oven as well, just to watch the time so they didn't burn, as they are already precooked.
I baked them at 3.75 for 10 minutes, checked and the insides were cool, so put them in for another 5 minutes. They were hard as a rock, okay well not that hard, but hard enough that we had a hard time biting into them. The filing was tasteless and they sort of had a slimy texture. We dunked them in BBQ and sweet and sour sauce and still, we only ate a few pieces each. Perhaps they would be better deep fried, but frying them won't add any flavor to the filling. I wont serve these to guests and wont be buying them again.
