Not the tangy dill I was expecting

Its a very crunchy pickle. It IS tangy, but its got a weird taste once you start chewing it, that becomes sweet. I can't taste the dill. I think it might taste better chilled, but it says on the package that only once it is opened does it need to be refrigerated.
