Doesn’t last

I’ve used the Grown Alchemist Skin Defence Primer with Matte, Satin and Dewy foundations and noticed the foundation would settle into creases and smudges even after 9 hours of wear. I tried ‘baking’ with translucent powder and that didn’t help either. I wish I could love this product because I liked how quickly it dried and the velvety finish, but it didn’t make a noticeable difference on pores, an even-complexion or help my makeup last longer.

Obsessed!

I love that this primer is super light-weight and a clear gel allowing it to blend effortlessly into your skin and super hydrating! It also has a very nice faint scent to it that isn’t too strong unlike other primers that smell terrible!
I paired it with my everyday foundation and it definitely did stick up to its name and blurred out a lot of the pores I had on my skin! My skin also stayed hydrated the whole time my foundation stayed out and didn’t flake!
Also let’s talk about the ingredients! One thing I’ve been looking for in a primer is ingredients to actually help my skin and this is it!
This primer is silicone-free and contains prebiotic peptide, an anti-pollutant shield complex and Reishi Mushroom extract to help strengthen and protect your skin!

Overall I love this primer and I’ll definitely be buying this again!

Perfectly matte

The absolute best make up partner! Instantly mattes my skin, creating a smooth barrier for my make up to glide on. I actually really love the earthy smell it has, 94 percent derived from natural ingredients. It looks thick in texture, but I find it is easily absorbed into my skin while leaving behind a matte canvas to work on. I LOVE this primer and will definitely be adding it to my daily regime.

Not your average primer

I am a huge fan of Grown Alchemist products so I was psyched to be able to try this primer from them for free in return for my honest review. And in that regard, I honestly love it! I use different primers for different products. When I'm feeling a more matte, blurred pore moment, I always reach for one with a silicone base. The problem with silicone is that is can hard to remove from the skin which can lead to irritation and acne. So, its something I reach for less and less. And now, with this Grown Alchemist primer, I'll never have to reach for it again. The texture is almost identical. I have no idea how they did it but it is amazing. It might from the fructose, something I didn't even know you could put in a primer. Texture wise, its silky and smooth. It immediately blurs all fine lines and fills those pores beautifully. It makes the perfect canvas for any look imagined. It is scented but it is a light, botanical smell. Which makes sense since this primer is packed full of a bunch of natural goodies such as Mushroom Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Orange Peel Extract, Rosemary Leaf Oil, Bergamot Fruit Oil, Moringa Seed Extract, Lemon Peel Oil, Balsam Resin, and Ginger Root Oil. Thats a crazy amount of nature in one bottle! I did use this primer many times and with a bunch of different skincare and makeup and I found that it played nicely with just about everything. I only had a little piling with one sunsreen and it wasn't super bad. I just used a big fluffy brush to get the piling off my face and everything else stayed perfect. Added bonus for a product that also protects the skin from pollution and all other manner of nasties.

I only have one little con and that would be the price. She ain't cheap! But, at little goes a really long way so this 50ml tube should last awhile. This is definitely a product that I could see myself buying again and again.

Best primer ever

After using this product for last 5 to 6 times i will say it is one of the best primer ever tried. After using this primer my skin felt smooth and oil free. It has a nice matte finish. My makeup stayed longer and blurred my skin pores. It also illuminates my skin

Very moisturizing oil free gel primer

Thank you for sending me this Grown Alchemist Anti-Pollution Primer to try! This product is a game-changer, especially since I live in a dry and cold city. The primer creates a protective barrier on my skin; I feel immediate moisturization and cooling. I love that this primer contains antioxidants, which help to combat free radicals and prevent premature aging. I habitually check ingredients; this product is made of safe plant-based ingredients. The formula is lightweight, feels like a gel, and absorbs quickly, making my skin smooth and silky. It doesn't leave any residue on my skin and has no scent. After using this primer, my foundation no longer leaves my skin dry. This primer has a very light orange peel scent, is natural, and almost unnoticed. Great Mattifying Primer

This is a great primer, however it did not gel with the products i used. the concealer i use is sillicone based so it did not mix well with this primer. the primer itself was really nice and light and felt almost cooling on my skin. super lightweight and if you are looking for a barely there primer, this one is it!

Smooth and silky, doesn't pill!

I was excited to try Grown Alchemist's primer. It felt very smooth, lightweight, and the formula is silicone-free. Didn't pill with my skincare, which is often a problem for me with primers. Keeps my skin hydrated without feeling greasy and blurs pores and lines. The scent might be too strong for sensitive skin since it's coming from essential oils in the formula. The metal tube is a bit tough to squeeze. I am a fan overall!

Love the cooling effect of the primer

I received the Grown Alchemist Skin Defense Primer from Butterly and Grown Alchemist for testing and review purposes.
I have been using this product regularily prior to applying my makeup and I can say this product leaves my skin smooth and well hydrated which is particularly key for making makeup look flawless.

The gel is super lightweight and non-greasy. It's a clear gel that is easily absorbed by the skin without leaving any residue or irritation. Its silky like texture leaves the skin feeling super soft and silky and helps provide a more matified look of the skin. There is a slight cooling effect when applied, which helps to minimize the look of pores and give the face a more fresh feel. There is a slight pine/citrus smell to the gel which is refreshing itself.

I apply a small dab to each cheek a dab on the forehead and massage it into my face. You really don't need a lot to cover the whole face and it dries pretty quickly so you don't need to wait long before applying makeup!
