I have been using this primer for two weeks now before applying my makeup, and it definitely makes the difference on overall appearance . The texture is gel like consistency, but it feels very lightweight on the skin. It absorbs easily into the skin and leaves my skin super smooth and hydrated. I love that it didn't dry out my skin. It gave you a mattagainse finish look. This primer provides defense against the pollution in the air and UV rays as well.

Best Primer Ever!!

I absolutely love this brand—Grown Alchemist—because every product I’ve tried has been fantastic. It looks great, has a perfect natural finish, and most importantly - its mostly skincare!
This primer however is an all together different creature. The primer feels silky smooth going on and has a refreshing cooling effect. It keeps make up on very well and blends into the skin easily. You truly only need a thin layer to get beautiful hydration. It's a thick gel that glides across the skin with almost as much slip as a silicone, though not quite. I’m very much enjoying this primer. Overall it helps to keep my makeup from melting off my face! Highly recommended!!

Lightweight and cool on the skin

Grown Alchemist’s Skin Defense Primer is more than just a makeup primer. It enhances my skin. With its antioxidant-rich formula, it protects my skin from harmful environmental stressors and free radicals.

Amazing!

Grown Alchemist Skin Defense Primer goes on smooth, silky and covers all pores in a flash, my skin is left so soft after this primer is applied. I love it under my foundation as well as wearing it alone for a skin barrier. The best part is that this product smells amazing! I have nothing but good things to say about this. Definitely a holy grail of primers!! Go try it! You won’t regret it!

Primer and More: Dehydration & Environment Defense

I recently tried the Grown Alchemist Skin Defense Primer for Anti-Pollution and Pore Minimizing and I really like for a number of reasons! The gel texture is easy to apply and leaves a smooth, matte finish on my skin. I've used it both as a base for makeup and on its own to reduce oil and shine, and it works well for both purposes.

I used it before heading to work recently, and a coworker actually complimented me on my skin. It's not often that someone notices a difference, so that was a pleasant surprise. The inclusion of adaptogens like Reishi Mushroom and Ashwagandha, along with pre-biotic peptides, gives me confidence that it's doing more than just providing a smooth base.

Knowing that it's actively working to defend against dehydration and environmental stressors makes it more than just a cosmetic product for me.

Smooth as silk

I was lucky enough to be chosen to try Grown Alchemist Skin Defense Primer and right out the gate I love everything about it.
My skin looks amazing and feels amazing, leaving me feeling my youth again.
If that’s not enough it’s also silicone free.
After a week of use I definitely see and feel its benefits and have now found my favourite primer.
Application could not be any easier just put it on after your moisturizer, then finish up your makeup routine. It’s that simple and the results will have you looking fantastic.
It’s very light weight and silky leaving you with results you have to see to believe. Amazing product !!!!

Exceeds expectations

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I have been using this primer consistently for two weeks now before applying my make up and it definitely makes a difference to the overall look. The primer is lightweight and absorbs easily leaving my skin smooth and my pores invisible and once I apply foundation on top I achieve a desired polished and clean look. I also like that the primer gives a matte finish look despite my oily skin. I love it !

Actually great

So first off I actually love this primer. I did get it to test but I'm likely going to rebuy it when I run out. This is rare for me because I can never find one I like and that actually does something lol. Neither of the top 3 work for me. This stuff is great, it's silky, it's hydrating, it leaves a beautiful smooth canvas for makeup applications and it doesn't interfere with them because it's silicone free (which legit shocked me since it has that look and feel at first) and I use water based foundation. Also love that it has prebiotic peptides because my skin loves a prebiotic. This primer does not have any icky texture that will drive you crazy if you are texture/residue sensitive like I am. It also has a lightly pleasant citrus smell that quickly fades away which is a nice effect. It's also a huge tube and will last forever because you only need a bead of it. I actually wear this with or without makeup just to add a little smoothness and pore reduction after my morning skincare.

Hydrating

This primer is wonderfully scented, it's light and refreshing. It's nice and lightweight, and goes on smooth. Blurs pores effectively. And keeps my foundation strong and fresh throughout the day.

Amazing Primer!

I was so generously gifted Grown Alchemist's Skin Defense Primer by @grownalchemist and @thisisbutterly in exchange for an honest review.
I'm super skeptical of primers, as my skin is so fussy. But let me say, this primer exceeded my expectations and more.
Upon initial application of this gel primer, I noticed a cooling sensation - very refreshing! I love the way it feels upon application and I can't wait to use it every day. It dries quickly and actually lives up to its claims of mattifying and blurring imperfections to create a smooth surface for makeup application.
What's even more impressive is that this primer is able to do all of this while being silicone free. Now I do use and have used primers with silicone because they generally work better than for me than those without, but Grown Alchemist's Skin Defense Primer actually works just as well as some of my favorite silicone-based primers! This is such a benefit because silicone can clog pores, which can be an issue for me.
It does not leave any sort of tacky feeling, and my face does not get that slick and greasy feeling after a long day. I am in love with this primer!
