Works very good on light hair

I received the denim blue colour of this product as part of the chick advisor review club to try.
I tried this on my hair and the colour seemed very vivid at first, but after drying it toned down quite a bit. As advertised it lasted a few washes. My 5 year old son thought it was the coolest thing and asked if I could put it in his hair (which is light blonde) and it looked almost a purple grey blue mix. Overall it's good for a temporary punch of colour in your hair for those who don't want to commit to permanent colour.
Sorry, but it's a Nope.
I first want to start by saying I have light brown hair and I knew going into this I wasn't going to be looking like what was on the box. Which was Head Turner Cotton Candy, but I did expect to see something.
The box and the packaging makes it appealing for sure but the bottle itself is a spray and while using this the first time (I tried two different methods, more on that later), all over my head. It gets everywhere if your trying to do this on yourself. I would definitely get someone to help you. Just trying to spray every part of your head and if you have smaller hands, trying to spray the bottle can be a bit tricky.
Side note: The gloves that come with it. Yes, I know they are suppose to be one size fist all but these were huge and made it even more difficult. I ended up using a spare pair of gloves that I had tucked away.
As for the smell. I didn't mind it at "first". It had a nice floral'ish scent which like I said, it didn't bother me at the time I was spraying, but if your sensitive to scents this lingers and it did give me a headache afterwards. So heads up on that one.
Next comes the instructions. I'm sorry but they are all over the place. On one side of the box it says you can use on dry or damp hair. Ok. Fine.
So my first attempt was on damp hair. On the instruction sheet that comes inside the box it tells you to first use on shampooed & conditioned hair?? If any one out there has ever dyed their hair, you will know that usually the rule is not to shampoo or condition your hair right before you dye it. You're suppose to wait a day or two after washing, so this seemed stranger to me. So what I did, I used very little conditioner, because my hair usually ends up in a tangled mess (which surprisingly this product didn't do) towel dried my hair, combed it out, waited a bit then went spray crazy. Combed it through my hair and blowed dried it...
My middle hair part was more pink than anything. Again, keep in mind my hair is light brown/dark blond and I wasn't expected to come out looking like the box unless I bleached my hair. First attempt on Damp Hair. Just don't bother (see pic).
So for the second attempt, I waited a few days and decided to do this my way instead of "following the instructions" on dry two day old hair. I say "my way" because it does say you can use on dry or damp hair on the outside of the box, but on the inside it doesn't say anything about using it on dry hair, just damp... And on the other side of the box it say's to "thoroughly rinse hair after application" ??? Huh? This is a leave in spray...
So what I did, I divided my hair into two pig tails (I have long hair) and focused on the ends because I was going to saturate them, because I wanted to see something.. I then took two sheets of aluminum foil, basically as a shield for the spray, soaked one tail at a time, combed it out, sprayed some more, wrapped that pig tail up in the foil, (repeated other pig tail :p ), and I waited 30-40 mins., with the dye soaking my hair in the foil. Then I dried my hair with a hair dryer. The color took a bit more than it did with the "damp hair" attempt. It's still faint but you can see some pink (see pic.).
So if you were able to follow all of what I just wrote. Good job :)
But to summarize: Packing is nice (woop woop). Spray bottle not a fan. Instructions are all over the place and I ended up doing my own thing. Color payoff is very minimum unless you want to attempt on bleached/very light blond hair. The instructions and the spray bottle alone is enough for me to say no to this.
I hope this helps someone out by reading. I did get this product for free through Chick Advisor #gotitfree in exchange for this review. Thank you.
Not my fav
I am not a big fan of this product. I have light brown hair with a lot of light blonde highlights. So I knew the light brown hair wouldn't really show the blue colour. I was expecting the blonde highlights to really stand out with the blue. It didn't. It made my light brown hair turn darker, which reading the box I knew this would happen. So not a surprise there. The blonde had just turned grey looking instead of blue. I was not very happy about that.
I've dyed my own hair plenty of times in the past so I thought that the application process would be easy. For some reason, I thought it was more difficult then I had expected. It was very messy. My hands ended up turning more blue than my hair ever did. And I was using the gloves.
The box also stated that it would last for about 3 washes. I usually wash my hair every other day. So I was thinking that this would last about 6 days for me. I kept it in my hair for about 24 hours and then I had to wash it out, the smell of the product wasn't pleasant. I could not take the smell any longer. So I washed my hair, the colour was basically gone instantly, which in my case was a good thing since it just made my hair look old and grey.
Cotton candy hair
I recieved this product free to try. It was the cotton candy colour. My hair is natural blonde. I used almost a whole bottle and my hair turned a shade of pinkish red. It also says it lasts 3 shampoos. Mine washed out the 1st shampoo. Definitely didnt work as it said. Too bad!
Head turning review
I received this product through ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club in exchange for my review. I was excited to try the product, it was packaged well and I like how it is temporary. The instructions were somewhat confusing initially and I had to reread them a couple times. The spray bottle idea is a great one, but too much product came out at once, which was surprising at first, but I got the hang of it. It produced a nice colour on my hair and it washed out no problem. I didn't have any issues with colour on my towel or pillow case.
Amazing
This product is AMAZING! I loved my pink pastel hair so much, without any commitment! I have bleached hair and it was super simple to use. The only complaint I have is that the instruction was a little bit unclear, but it’s pretty easy to understand/use so that was fine! I surely recommend and I will buy it again!
#gotitfree for testing :-)

I received this product to test through ChickAdvisor and was super excited to try it. I love experimenting with my hair and trying new colours. First of all the directions aren’t entirely clear. There are slight differences on the box, bottle, and included instructions. I decided to apply the spray to towel dried freshly washed hair. I found it messy to apply as the product comes out in more of a stream than a mist, and on already wet hair it becomes heavily wet and drips. It would probably be better to apply to dry or close-to dry hair. I was trying to achieve the bright pink on the box so I applied the entire bottle. This left my hair an awesome bright pink that I LOVED.. unfortunately the product felt very heavy and chalky in my hair. I didn’t find any transferrance once it was dry though. Even my pillow cases were completely clean the next day and the colour was still vibrant. I wasn’t comfortable with how thick and gunky my hair felt so I did decide to wash it out before leaving the house. After one wash my hair felt great and was still a tiny hint of pastel pink.
I think this product may have been more effective if I had used less and applied it to dry hair. I don’t recommend using it heavily and not if you expect a huge change in colour. But for something extremely temporary it would be ideal. And if you are just looking for a slight hint of colour you could do exactly as I did because I did love my hair after one wash. Once I adjusted my expectations I did like the results of this product!
