Fun idea but poor turnout...
I was excited to try the göt2b Head Turner hair color spray in Candy Cotton, as I have never really played around with dyes outside the more natural shade range. After receiving the package from ChickAdvisor and reading the instructions, I was ready to go!
Well...almost.
Being a newbie to spray-in dye, I made sure to read the box, the bottle, and the insert to ensure that something horrible wouldn't happen due to my inexperienced hands. However, I ended up confused. One side of the box said to rinse hair thoroughly after applying colour. Ok! The other side of the box, however, said to leave in and blow dry. Oh, well on to the bottle. Bottle says to rinse thoroughly. Hmm. Insert? A diagram with a woman applying the colour, then standing in the shower. Huh. I looked up a few videos on similar products, and no one seemed to be rinsing out the product after applying it, so I decided to go that route, as since it is supposed to wash out within 3 washes, it makes sense that you wouldn't start by rinsing it, right? Right! Ready to go!
Feeling smug because I just happened to have a pink towel to drape around myself to avoid any potential nuclear pink fallout on my skin, I proceeded to spritz my hair with what I assumed would be a fairly fine mist (although the product is not in aerosol form).

Ah. Ok, the spray nozzle was not the most user friendly thing ever, and the colour rocketed out in unpredictable fashion, but that's fine since I'm saturating and combing through anyway. The scent was pleasant and non-chemical. About half a bottle later, my hair (fine and somewhat thin) was duly soaked, as was my scalp, bathtub, the walls, some of the floor, and the now even-pinker towel. Excellent, well at least my hair will be good and pink!
And, in certain light, it was. Sort of. More of a tint. Not a tint like you see on sunglasses, but sort of an afterthought that hangs around after the party is over. My hair is a medium golden blonde depending on the light, so I wasn't expecting 'girl on the box pink', but this was more 'put a red sock in a load of grey clothes' pink. So perhaps a bit of a rose gold hint (see photo of first attempt).
Not to be defeated by a less than vibrant result (yes I know, this is pastel, not bright dye), I decided the next day to take it up a level. Obviously I hadn't used enough. This time, to heck with the spray bottle. I carefully pulled my hair back into a ponytail, emptied some of the dye into a little bowl (looks like cherry KoolAid!), and dunked the pony. Submerged it. Swished it. Got a cramp in my arm. Still held it in there. Great! Took the ponytail out of the bowl, let it drip into the sink, then blotted a bit with paper towel and let air dry on the pink towel. This would really show a difference, as my ponytail was completely drenched but the rest of my hair wasn't. There would be obvious delineation where the dye started.
Nope.
At this point I assumed either my hair was simply too dark to really show this colour, or was pranking me. Maybe both. As the photo shows however (2nd attempt) there was honestly no difference. If anything, my hair just looks a bit strawberry-ish.
But the good news was that, as washed out as it looked in my hair, it washed out even easier from the bathtub, walls, floor, towel, and my scalp.
Final thoughts: I'm happy to have tried this product, and on super light hair I think it would be pretty. It just didn't really do much for me. Instructions were contradictory which I feel is an issue. Application was easy but messy, a cream would have been easier. Product was a pretty pink shade on everything but my hair. I'm still smug that I had that pink towel.
Not as bold as I had hoped
I received this product free for review, but all opinions remain my own.
Looking at the box, I was hoping for a bit of a WOW factor, and I didn’t really get that. I have naturally dark-blonde hair, and I am thinking this would have been more effective on lighter blonde hair. It was easy enough to use, though I did manage to spray my bathroom walls, and stain my hands blue. Use the gloves, seriously. It easily wiped off of any surface, and my face, with baby wipes.
This did leave a slight tint in my hair, but I think it is more grey or silver than the blue I had expected. It was still a fun product to try out, and I would definitely recommend it to people looking for a temporary pop of colour for very light hair.
Cool Idea but doesn't do the trick!
I was send the colour Cotton Candy for free and I was very excited to give Got2Be Head Turner a try, but now I'm not so sure! First, let's start off with the instructions; the box describes one way to apply the product, the bottle another, and the pamphet inside the box yet another set of directions! Anyway, I went with the pamphlet directions (wash/condition hair, apply product on damp hair, brush through for even application). I would recommend getting someone to help you apply the product if you have long hair. As I was blowdrying my hair, I could feel that it was much dryer than normal. The pink colour turned out just okay (I'm wondering if it would have turned out better if my hair was solid blonde) but my biggest complaint is that my hair now feels dry and brittle. I hope it didn't ruin my balayage or damage my hair by trying this product!!!
Hmmm.....so after one wash my hair is back to normal. I'm thinking I was a little to quick to judge! I found that after of day or two of applying this product the pink colour was more enhanced altough the dry brittle texture was still present. On that note, as a fun way to change up your hair colour, this might not be so bad once in a while!
Messy, greasy, didn't last
I was so excited to use the got2b head turner in demin blue however it did not meet my expectations. It was easy to use. Just spray in. However it got messy. The spray dripped out of my hair and sprayed everything around me while I was trying to spray my hair. I thought it smelled great. After it was in my hair and my hair was blowed dry my hair felt super greasy. It turned my hair a faded greyish blue. Which was the picture on the box, I think I would like a stronger colour. The box says it lasts 3 washes however it was completely out with the first wash. Alittle disappointed but I am glad I had the opportunity to try it.
A huge disappointment for me
I tried using this in the shower to avoid messing up anywhere else, which it ended up ruining the shower too. Really messy and the spray itself sucked. When it comes to the dye, it was terrible. I love the brand, but this product was just not a favourite of mine.
