Let me start by saying this review is based on many different factors.
I am an AVID Guitar Hero fan, I own all the games and when they mentioned coming back with this game I was SO stoked to have it...so of course I paid the 100 dollars for the game the week it came out. Well, I expected the same gist from the others in this one, with certain different elements so I was thinking okay one hundred bucks for game and guitar is worth it for sure.
First off, the guitar has a WHOLE new button layout, no more colors to help and the spacing isn't there...it's six buttons all bunched together. As someone who plays guitar it isn't bothersome until on screen you see the buttons spaced to play and well they are right next to each other, or when it changes from bottom three to top three and blends are done holding both down...needless to say if that was confusing...that is how it feels for awhile in real time too.
Now, my biggest issue was that I had to have a jump drive specifically for this game...why you ask? It takes up SO much memory on my 360...I couldn't fit it on there...therefore I had to find a way to make it happen...and if that didn't hurt my feelings I also have to have another hard drive in order to play the GH TV portion of the game...yet another let down.
Now, song list is decent...not as good as others but for a coming back relaunch per say..it was good. But there weren't nearly enough songs for me...I beat this game on regular in two days...either I'm overzealous or it really isn't as challenging as I wish it was.
With graphics in mind, it's PERFECT....mind blowing. I had to pause a few times simply because when you're running around the stage and things on the game it's almost a dizziness from being in the moment. When you're horrible, the crowd is on it and when you're amazing they are AWESOME...even the banners are well thought out.
Overall, for a coming back game it was average but I expect sooner or later for something much more up to par with their normal standards.
