We have an older home with lower ceilings. When we wanted to replace our old ceiling fan, we scored this one for under $100 at Home Depot. It has a 'hugger' base (meaning it sits close to the ceiling) so we will have enough head room to walk underneath it. It is a quite powerful fan. 3 speeds, 4 lights and has just enough ambient noise to not keep me up all night. If installed properly, there is no ratelling and moves the air in our bedroom quite nicely!
