Hape Qubes are small handheld wooden toys in various shapes. They come in a variety of themes, we got the sea theme. Some of the themes come with a lace so the blocks can be strung together, which is more interesting for baby when playing together. They are large enough to not be a choking hazard. The paint on them is baby safe and it has withstood a lot of gnawing so far :)

It's a fun set for a reasonable price, and it doesn't take up a lot of space.
