The boys like it but the suction cup doesn't work!!

I was looking for a toy that I could hang somewhere and they could entertain themselves with, but that I could also use with them. This toy is alright, it's a sparkly fish on a fishing rod with an elastic string. I tried sticking it on a number of surfaces but the suction cup just won't work, which was a huge disappointment. I ended up closing it in the fridge door (to hold it up) and they like it ok but it's not as great as I expected. Honestly, I could have made a fish on a string - I bought it because of the suction cup. And there's no catnip in it so they get bored pretty fast.
