Wasn't great for my dog and myself.
I wore gloves when bathing my dog with this but where some touched my arm it immediately starting giving me a rash and a few minutes after that I started getting chest discomfort and started puking. I thought nothing of it until an hour or so later when my dog was just laying on the floor shaking uncontrollably and whinning. I'm not sure what type of reaction both me and my dog had but after an internet search it appears it happens often to people, so now I like to tell people about my personal experience. Just be super observant of your pet and yourself if you use this product!
**it also did not help with the fleas he had either**
Dog shampoo
I tried this on my dog to make him smell good as well as get rid of fleas but never worked at all. He was still scratching and didn’t even smell good after using alot on him. The shampoo is not strong at all and can hardly smell it. I am not impress with the shampoo or the company and they have been around for along time.
Hartz products are not safe!
As someone who works in small animal medicine I will tell you what any vet or tech will tell you: hartz products are not trustworthy and I would highly reccommend using a different brand. Especially with medicated products such as this one. There are other generics/inexpensive options out there that are much safer than these. Although they’re cheap they could cost you hundreds of dollars in an expensive emergency vet visit. There is literally a website dedicated to hartz victims, due to flea and tick products that resulted in a lot of pet fatalities years ago.
Oh please make a different scent!
This product is ok. I find it very watery where I then have to use more of it. I wish they would make a different scent tho. I hate the smell of pines and I don’t think my dogs do either as they sneeze like crazy while bathing them
This stuff is not expensive at all, can be purchased anywhere and it is very effective. all you do is wet dogs hair, I massage it in for ten minutes and I rinse out. You can actually see the dead fleas going down the drain and it has this very nice pine smell to it. it also effectively gets all the dirt of the dog. I love this stuff all you have to do is thoroughly wash blankets and floors when finished shampooing the dog and you will fully rid your home of those pesky ankle biters.
