It is a cute idea
Overall, the product is alright based on the price. The hatching experience is the best part, but after that it seems like the toy is then forgotten. The hatching portion lasts for a good deal of time and keeps the little ones focused. After it is initially hatched, it is then played with a bit. A week or so later it appears to become less interesting.
Waste of money
This was the biggest waste of money. My daughter wanted it so bad so I got her for her for Christmas the year they were so popular. I lucked out and found one at kohl’s when they were sold out everywhere. She watched it hatch on Christmas Day and played with it for about an hour and now it sits at the bottom of her toy box.
I get why kids love it.
My twins loved this and being able to watch it hatch. It does however take a little while to get it to hatch. Warning it will not hatch itself all the way out you will have to remove the top when it has enough holes all the way around. When you go to get it out of the egg it almost sounds like you broke it but no fear that’s supposed to happen. I feel like it’s another version of the Kirby if you know what those are. It learns things as you play it comes with a guide on what each color eye means and you can always have it go back to baby/toddler with the reset. To me I am not sure I would pay that much for the toy but my kids do love it a lot. To then it’s like having a baby to play with.
i would not get these again.
my three children each got one. once hatched and played with an hour they became old. just repeats it self and did not learn anything new and was boring to my children ( 8yrs , 6 yrs and 3 yrs old). now are just dust collectors..
Crazy Egg Toy
Had a fun time playing at first but then my nephews broke it the first five minutes into it. Quality is ok but could have been better in my opinion! Hopefully if I ever get another somehow that it can last a couple of days lol
Waste of money
My 9 year old begged for one of these for almost a year. Finally Santa brought her one for Christmas this year. She was so happy and excited. Later Christmas day after all the festivities we opened her hatchimal and she started the hatching process. I thought fantastic this will keep her busy for a while, nope that process took less than 10 minutes! So we read all the directions together about raising your hatchimal and she followed the directions and played with it for maybe a half hour before becoming frustrated with it and put it away. She didn't touch it for a week until she had a friend over and I suggested they check it out. They played with it for not even five minutes before she put it away. So it is now September and she has not touched it since that day a week after Christmas.
