Allergic Reaction to Apple & Blueberry Muesli

We travelled a lot with our children during their infancies and so we relied on bottled baby foods for convenience. We realised earlier on that our third child is allergic to dairy therefore we are careful with his diet. However, we only found out the severity of his allergy after consuming the Heinz Apple & Blueberry Muesli baby food in a jar - he broke out in wheals, his ears inflamed & harden red, his neck swollen and his eyes puffed up & turned to slits! He was rushed to a hospital at the start of our vacation and given hydrocortisone intravenously. It was a scary experience for the whole family!

We've been buying jars of Heinz baby foods for him like the Apple, Pear, Pear & Banana, Summer Fruits Gel and Parsnip, Carrot & Sweet Potato - all fruits and vegetables and free of dairy. Thus it was easy for us to miss the FULL CREAM MILK (26%) ingredient on the Apple & Blueberry Muesli jar which was written in small print in white. Even the graphics on the bottle showed a big apple in the middle and I was tricked into complacency!! I wish Heinz could have been clearer and put forth an ALLERGEN sign when there are such ingredients in their baby products. We were lucky to have access to medical treatment at the time and avoid any major or fatal incident.
