Fabulous movie! ***** definitely 5 stars !!! Will Smith acting was at it's best in this movie and the story line was fanominal !!!!
I really enjoyed this movie. They really made you feel for his character, and you became invested in his journey. Will Smith killed this role
I absolutely loved I Am Legend. Will Smith was amazing in it and the dog was a stellar actor as well. You really feel for the characters. I usually love end-of-the-world type movies, and this one definitely delivers. It has a lot of action, and some strong emotional scenes. The ending of the original movie isn't great, but I really like the director's cut version that has the tattoos in it (you'll see). It really adds something to the movie and changes the way you think about the 'bad' guys. And the dog's climactic scene? It gets me every time. So sad. It's no wonder it makes Will snap. His only friend and companion. Not including those weird mannequins.
Not too many movies do I come into expecting one thing, seeing something else, and not being DISAPPOINTED with it. Well, I Am Legend actually achieved this. The movie is a good lesson on what can happen to our world if scientists create a viral outbreak that wipes out most of the human population. This was heartwarming and emotional. While not having many characters, you found a strong connection with the few that were actually in this including Will's dog. What happened to the dog brought back memories of Old Yella. What's funny is that the dog was a better actor than many actual people in numerous other films I've seen. Also, the sense of survival is real and influences Will's action and sometimes even the ultimate sacrifice. This is definitely a MUST watch!
I have to agree with MissChickie I really really liked this movie. It ended up being a lot more scary than I thought it would be so I had to watch something funny afterward so as to not have nightmares! There are many layers to this movie if you look for them...it has action, it comments on faith, it comments on purpose in life etc. I found that it reminded me a bit of the movie Signs when it came to the commentary on faith and hope and it also somewhat reminded me of Castaway (on how one deals with solitude). I would highly recommend this movie and yes it has enough substance to keep both men and women entertained and into the movie! :o)
Saw this movie yesterday in the theatre and really liked it. For the most part it has had positive reviews. I actually thought it was really well done and Will Smith is awesome. I am really starting to dig him in these more serious roles. I also loved him in The Pursuit of Happyness.
This film was really intense and I found it pretty scary. I ate nearly a bag of nibs in my nervousness. My one critique is that is pretty similar to Night of the Living Dead and I would have preferred another ending.
Regardless, I really enjoyed it and felt it was money well spent. A good Guy/Girl pleaser. Enough plot to keep me happy and enough action for the hubby. Great flick.
