I use this to keep copper!
I use their copper and golden blonde and mix them 50/50 with 30 volume to achieve a nice copper! I only do my roots and it comes out great every time. It’s saved me so much money over time and a little goes a long way!
switched from color kits to this, never going back
I started dying my BF hairs blue, tried different color kits, the color was not that bad, but faded away a bit too quickly and coverage of white hairs was almost non existent. I decided to try something a bit more professional, and I couldn't be happier: less mess, color lasting waaaay longer, always the same shade of blue.
For anyone that is getting patched color: you need to apply it with a proper brush and follow instructions, it's not the color, is your technique! No one gets it right the first time, wait a few days and try again.
Ps: blue is a tricky color, difficult to make it last. Probably with a more classic color I would have noticed less the quality jump.
Red dye turned my hair hot pink
My former hairdresser used to use this brand, so I was under the impression that it was quality. I had my hair bleached almost white blonde beforehand, and then applied the red dye. Took forever to wash out (which is expected, I have quite thick hair) and when I looked in the mirror for the first time, I noticed that there were blonde streaks all along the back and one side of my head. Not to mention that as it dried, it was very clearly not red. It’s hot pink (a bit lighter on the side with the blonde streaks). It looks almost intentional, so it’s not the end of the world, but I don’t plan on keeping it like this for long. Disappointed, honestly.
WORST experience ever!
I tried to write a review many weeks ago. So, trying, again...I hope it was not because it IS a negative review. I understand many people have liked the result. But, it's only fair to share ALL experiences, with others, not just the good ones. Especially, when they can be devastating and potentially help others.
I was told this was more of a professional dye and because of COVID no one can go to a Salon. I tried two colors in the blonde family because what I usually get done in the salon is highlights atop natural dark blonde hair. I was not too picky (if, at all) about what color blonde turned out as long as it was some kind of blonde. I purposely picked a blonde that was sort of in between my natural hair color and the highlights. I tried volume 10, 20, and 30 and each time my hair turned orange with random patches of really dried out, brittle blonde-orange. I have hair down to my waist and it is so dry, tons of it is coming out. I have only been growing it ALL MY LIFE. I should have went with ANY other box dye where I don't have to guess about the ratio and is easier on the hair.
I think there is a reason this stuff WAS professional and now is not and the cheapest box dye available in drug stores.
My hair has looked like total crud for 2 months now. NOT a very big deal, maybe, relatively speaking, but I have a terminal illness, so I am living each day like it is my last. THIS did not help as I've been walking around with a hat and hoodie it is THAT bad. Now, I have to wait a long while before I try literally ANY other box dye, that should work.
Steer clear if you have never used this product before or have never done a box dye. If you are looking for a 'pick me up' with all this COVID-19 business, my advice: use a 'tried and tested' brand where the ratio of dye to developer is built in, so no 'guessing games'.
P.S. I also researched this brand, read reams about it, consulted cosmetologists and one hairdresser I just happened to run into at a store, I watched videos, I followed instructions to the letter. Just, a noteworthy add-on to my initial review that I forgot to mention, above.
Impressive
I had bright blonde/white/platinum hair, so when I decided to go back to my natural brown/dark brown colour I was expecting to go orange first thinking that normal brown hair dye will not cover it. I was wrong! this stuff took me back to my dark brown shade in one session. it was darker then the advertised colour, but I like it just the same. In addition, this stuff is not a box dye, its more of a professional dye and you can tell! my hair does not feel dry or dead like box dye would. (BTW make sure to do your research when deciding what peroxide to use. I used 10 vol as I was going darker).
5 years and still happy
I've been using this product ever since I found it 5 years ago to deal with the grey that continues to creep in around my hairline. I found the colour closest to my natural one and use the 1:1 ratio. I love that I can mix up just what I need to deal with it, rather than having to mix a whole application and throw away most of it. I can also blend the colour into my natural hair by simply combing it through my hair. The results have been very natural looking.
Fantastic surprise!
Pleasantly surprised at how easy this was to apply, how it has fantastic grey coverage (not that i have a lot of grey, but it is stubborn). My hair is a bit dry after application though, so will need to do a mask treatment. One question i have is i previously went too dark with another product and the lower part of my hair (it's quite long and curly) is darker than the top part. Any suggestions on how I can get the black dye to be lighter so that it matches the top part of my head, lol
My go to product
Before this shampoo I was dealing with ugly yellow hair... I tried this left it on for 15 minutes and I had the hair colour I wanted from the beginning. It's amazing and the smell of it is great too. Grape :) works wonders and I will never have yellow hair again!
I've been using Ice Cream since it's been available at Shoppers Drug Mart. $14 gets me a $250 salon look. People are astonished that I do this myself at home with a small brush and pair of gloves. Even the colorist at the salon was incredulous at the look and feel of my hair. Unbelievable product!!!
LOVE this stuff!! I used to colour with whatever happened to be on sale. Then I started going to the salon. However, having dark, dark hair and 1/4 sliver/gray meant I was in the chair more often than my bank account could handle. After my last disastrous salon visit, I decided to try doing it on my own and a friend recommended Inebrya Ice Cream. It took a little to get used to. I discovered it is best applied with a brush. Complete gray coverage. Easy to use. The product is thick enough to stay where you put it and covers well. It did not have any noticeable fading and left my thick coarse hair soft and manageable.
Just finished my second time with this product and am thrilled with the results, again!
The price makes this even better (under $15).
