I dont own this but I have used a friends a few times and I love it. My hair is pretty thick and usually takes about 45 minutes to straighten my hair really good, this did it in about half the time and it looked great. Its a little on the expensive side, but I think its a great straightener.
Overall I Love the instyler, I think it feels a bit cheap, but well worth it anyways...much ,much, much faster at straightening our hair, than with a flatiron...and I love the way it leaves my hair feeling very soft and shiny
I recommend this mainly for bangs, when you want more volume in the front part of your hair.
However, for the rest of my hair, I don't see much of a difference pre-straightening and after.
A good thing about this product though, is that your hair doesn't get as damaged as a regular straightener.
Probably best for those with straight hair, in need of more volume.
I bought the InStyler at Walmart. I used before flatting iron which worked well but the InStyler gives you a style like you walked out straight from the hair dresser.
It's very easy to handle. Gives the hair a nice finish polished look. Especially I took me for my long hair less time as I would spend with the flatting iron.
Beauties...Seriously. My hair usually looks this way when I leave the salon! The instyler is super easy to use and gives you - yes, even you - a way to style your hair like the professionals. Straightening my hair with the instyler was faster than with my traditoinal flat iron, too. I think it has to do with the attached brushes which smooth the hair. There are 3 heat settings: high for thick/course hair, medium for normal hair, and low for thin/limp hair. I used the highest settings because, as you can see from the pics, I have thick and extremely curly hair. And, the instyler worked wonders on my hair.
The instyler gets hot! I mean really hot. I was concerned with the barrel since it's exposed and can easily touch my nape area, back and chest. It's also quite noisy. As the barrel rotates, it does give off a buzzing, motor sound. The instyler is a bit chunkier than a typical flat iron which may make it uncomfortable to handle especially for someone with smaller hands. With it's chunkiness, it wouldn't be ideal for travel either. All in all, this product is amazing. The infomercials are real. I didn't believe it initially. But you can be the judge by checking out my before and after pictures.
Here's a few GRW tips for usage. Be sure to use a heat protectant on your hair because the instyler does get extremely hot. Use a steady, slow guide through your hair. Use smaller sections for bone straight hair.
