Mystery Novel- But Too Many Characters
Mystery novel about a "Drowning Pool" where women seem to commit suicide, but is it really as it seems? This book changes perspectives from multiple main characters to get their unique perspectives on the issues and what is happening. It is a mystery to put together the many perspectives and figure out what happened.
The downfall of this novel is there were too many characters sharing their perspectives, which had me constantly flipping back to remember who said what. I expected a stronger ending after reading "The Girl On The Train," and I just did not find that with this novel. With that said, I do recommend this book as it was interesting and intriguing.
I was beyond excited that this book was coming out! I loved The Girl On The Train and couldn't wait to read Into The Water. Unfortunately this just didn't do it for me. I found it really hard to follow for the first 150 pages. New characters constantly being introduced and way too much back and forth. I found myself flipping back to remember who everyone was. The last half was really predictable. I knew who the killer was and the ending didn't leave me reeling for days afterwards. This was a miss for me.
