This will destroy you hair
This is the worst product we have used. We followed the directions exactly and my daughters hair is falling out. I am not exaggerating! I have been in contact with head office demanding a refund for the three kits we bought. They have refused a refund but have offered us free products instead. I pointed out a refund would be cheaper than free products they offered. We would never use any of their products again. This company support is unprofessional. This colour off product was purchased at Sally’s and should be taken off the shelf. We have since purchased hair masks etc ti help but It will take years to get her hair back to normal.
Love Punky Colours!
I started using Ion Brights a few years ago, but I was hoping for something a bit better. After reading a lot of reviews I decided to try Punky Colours. I’ve used it since. There’s great colors, it’s a good value, and it holds up well. I’ve gotten so many compliments, people often ask what I use and I always recommend Punky Colours.
This is a semi-permanent hair color, like all unnatural hair dyes, and so yes, it will fade. It’s not the brand, it’s just what this dye is. But this one seems to last better than most and is still pretty as it fades. I wash my hair every other day with shampoo that’s free of parabens and sulfates and I usually color my hair about every 4 weeks, though I could go longer. It needs to be applied to bleached hair if you want the bright colors.
The only downside is trying to figure out the colors. Example: there’s violet, purple, and plum. I tried purple, but it’s pretty pink looking. While I like it, I wanted more purple. So I tried violet and it’s a little too blue. The good thing is that you can mix colors to get what you want and I’ve done this often. I also like using multiple colors for a pretty ombré look.
Punky Hair Dye in Purple
Purchased this after many months of research, it's not my top choice but works awesome. As long as you mix it with conditioner before applying, always rinse in cold water, shampoo and condition right after you wash it out and make sure you apply on slightly damp hair. Only downside is it would be nice if you could get bigger ones instead of spending $13 on a small container that only covered my whole head of shoulder length hair because I added conditioner.
Virtually no bleeding/staining and super cheap!
Punky Colour was my favorite brand of hair dye for years because it has a good smell, it's very easy to get off skin compared to other brands, and doesn't bleed onto clothes and skin nearly as much as others. It has awesome coverage and I love the jar container. It does not have the longest color life but it's likely the cheapest dye you can find (less than $8.00 on Amazon) so I just buy double and freshen up the color after a few weeks. It still lasts for a good month but other dyes (Lunar Tides, Luntik, Nrage) do last longer. Punky Colour will always be a go to for my greens and blues though. Love it!
I’m so in love with Punky Color!!!
If you have dark hair you will have to bleach the sections you want to colour but I’ve never been disappointed with the results. I’ve used varies colours such as green apple, flamingo, violet, and a few shades of blue. I have quite thick curly hair and I find if I’m using more then one colour I can get two to three applications per container and they’re under $15 each. And because it is a vegetable based conditioning dye it leaves my hair soft and smelling like grape koolaid.
Perfection
I love these colours. I’ve tried many of them and have even blended to create my own. These are extremely pigmented, and the colour lasts so well! For ideal results, bleach your hair as light as you can without breaking it off. The fragrance of these is amazing too. So yummy!
Its great!
I have dark hair and had to bleach some of my hair in order to get the pigments of the Punky Color to really stand out! It would work well on blonde hair, but if you have darker hard I would recommend that you bleach if you are that committed!
best color dye around!
I have been using Punky color for 15+ years! i find that the brighter u want the color.. you bleach your hair.. I love all the colors! especially turquoise, flamingo pink and apple green! :)
lasts quite a long time :)
I have always been a fan of Jerome Russells punky color hair dye since the first time I tried it. I have tried these colors: Turquoise, Rose Red, Flamingo Pink, Poppy Red and Purple. I loved every one and all turned out lovely. I did lighten my hair first though because I have copper color hair naturally but if you have light colored hair then you probably wouldn't have to lighten you hair first. The colors would still show up but they just might not be as vibrant, so I guess that would be up to you. The colors also stayed in my hair for a long time but of course gradually faded with every wash. Overall though, I have used a lot of different brands and by far Punky color is my favorite and go to hair dye. The color lasted the longest as well over all the others I tried. I love punky color and recommend this strongly if you are looking for a good and different kind of hair color!!!
In my picture, the Jerome Russell color I used was Rose Red.
I used this product to color my hair purple. I have short hair and I found that the product did an amazing job! The color came out vibrant and stayed on for a good two/three weeks. I only used a small amount and was able to have enough for three applications. It smells so good. Just like grape soda! Yumm! I will for sure reuse this product at some point.
