Not for me
I have very thick curly hair and needed to use a lot of it for even coverage. It did compliment the shampoo and conditioner in covering greys but it left my hair quite dry.
Grey was defyed but....
With such dark hair greys are really what makes me self conscious so I will do anything to prevent them, especially if it means I can colour less. The blow dry foam is not a product type I have ever used, even ones without the colouring in, but I just didn't like the way my hair felt to touch, the look was great for the first day but I did feel the need to wash it again daily.
Mixed opinions
I got sent this product to test along with the shampoo and conditioner. Whilst the blow dry foam worked more than the shampoo & conditioner did it really does need some instructions added to the bottle as it does not state to wash hands or avoid skin contact as it’s basically fake tan and lasts for several days and smells bicuity. With this being said once you use this and avoiding your scalp (as it really does show its fake tanned!) this product is amazing at blending in grey hairs.
Can’t see any changes
So this product is visually very appealing the bottle itself is bright and eye catching and is something I’d be drawn to in the shop.
It’s really easy to use the product is lightweight and doesn’t weigh down your hair nor does it make it look greasy.
However can’t say I have noticed a difference to my hair having used this multiple times now. I will note that you have to give your hands a good scrub after use as it leaves them stained and smells like fake tan.
The concept is great but sadly it isn’t a good product for my hair as it’s not made a different!
Good product
I’ve been using this foam after the defy grey shampoo and conditioner for around 10 days now and have had great results. My stubborn greys around my hairline have majorly reduced, the product smells good and is easy enough to use but I’m not sure how essential it is. It’s great for before nights out or if I’m styling my hair but I wouldn’t really use on a day to day basis.
Couldn’t really see the difference
I’m not sure I’d buy this product again as I couldn’t really see the benefit after using it. Tried the shampoo and conditioner with Andy without this product and didn’t see a difference to the end result.
I think I’ll stick with my other post-wash products that include heat treatments etc in future
The finishing touch to the range
I have dark brown hair and have discovered a few greys have started growing so I was very excited to try this range of blending products. The foam is quite smooth and it has a bit of a strong smell. It glides well on my hair and I guess it is a good finishing touch to the shampoo and conditioner. I didn’t quite like how if felt on my hair and how it made my hands yellow. My hair felt smooth and soft after using the three products but it made my hair a slightly lighter shade of brown (which I didn’t like) and my hands were a yellow. Apart from that I didn't notice anything else or any change to my greys. I persevered and used the range a few more times but my greys are still not covered. My roots do seem a slightly different shade to my usual dark brown but I haven't noticed any change to my greys. I will continue using the shampoo and conditioner but perhaps not the foam as I didn’t enjoy how it felt on my hair.
Remember to wash your hands!
This blow dry mousse had an easy to use directional pump nozzle, and the mousse formula is easy to apply. However, you must wash your hands after applying and before you begin blow drying! The smell of the mousse isn't great, but I couldn't smell it on my hair after blow drying. I think the main purpose of this product is to blend away greys, alongside the shampoo and conditioner, which having used it for a few weeks, it does seem to achieve, but it offers no other benefits that I've noticed and didn't seem to protect my hair from the heat of styling or leave my hair any smoother or sleeker.
Light weight foam
#tryitforfree
I received a free trial of this blow dry foam. I liked that the foam is dark brown in appearance and super lightweight and airy in texture. Its non sticky even on the finest of hair and did not feel greasy or weigh down.
Pros: Love the directional nozel and non messy. Applies easily and is weightless in my hair. Like that it requires heat to activate the product. Like how it colours and gently blends away greys. Good for inbetween making your colour last longer as well as first greys.
Cons: smells like fake tan/biscuits. You need to ensure you wash your hands after application. The biscuit smell can be off putting after a few intial uses. You still need to apply heat protection spray.
I really like the mousse in formula and texture but for me the fake tan/buscuit smell is the main reason I have scored less. The colour for my hair I found needed to be a darker brown as felt like it brought out more copper tones to my hair which I dont usually have and am unsure if I like. Recommended use is five pumps but I find 1-2 pumps is enough for me I have long fine hair. When using 5 pumps I found it made the biscuit smell worse as using more product!
Not sure what it's supposed to do
I'm not really sure why this bit is needed I guess to cover the greys one last time after you've washed your hair. But I did find the product a bit redundant. Make sure you wash your hands after use because otherwise you can stain your skin. The scent is really lovely after you've dried your hair which is nice but it doesn't mention whether or not it protects your hair whilst drying or anything so want sure whether I could still use a heat protector mousse. Probably wouldn't spend money on it.
