No good.
My first box from Julep was exciting all the colours were very pretty. When I used them though it was terrible, the polish was very sheer, so I had to do multiple layers. And it just never seemed to dry. I had painted my nails like 4 hours before bed and it was like 2 coats and when I woke up the polish was dented and smudged off my nails.
I did try the Julep subscription box as I am a nail color lover. I loved the way the site looked and the color selections and how it looked. I was super disappointed in the color I received in my box and the quality of polish was well below par for my liking. The box itself was not THAT expensive but honestly not worth a continued subscription.
I currently am a monthly subscriber to the Julep Box Maven. I love nail polish. I love everything involved with nails !!! Obsessed you can say.
At first I went all gung-ho and ordered tons and tons of nailpolish through Julep, they have some amazing sales and codes for half off etc.
However, after a couple of months, my fondness for Julep has gone down hill. First of all the monthly boxes take almost a month to arrive.
Secondly, the polish formulas are hit and miss, some are dark, luscious and only need one coat and do not chip at all !! Then others need 3 coats, looks streaky and chips way too easily.
If you have been a subscriber for awhile you can "skip" the monthly box if you choose to .. but as a new subscriber you only get 2 skips a year. I do not think that is fair .. with all the good deals they have all month long, people are buying from them, I do not think you should have to take a particular box if it does not fit your fancy .. the only good thing about the boxes - you have 5 to choose from.
If you purchase a certain number of items in a given month they will give you some gifts - FREE .. everyone loves free - however its usually dried up least popular colours that you get, that was a little disappointing.
Some of their polishes are absolutely GORGEOUS ( Queen Anne is amazing) and I love getting new polishes, but I think the novelty has warn off, as I can get just as good polish on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart (Essie, Sally Hensen) once I get the full collection of the Monthly birthstones polish (last one in December) I will be parting ways with Julep.
It has been a great friendship, but it just isn't enough anymore.
If you have extra cash, and like spoiling yourself .. this is a great gift to give to yourself !! I do give the warning that the novelty will wear off quickly.
I had a subscription for a while but cancelled it. I was finding more and more that the colours were not my thing and the quality was inconsistent. The ones I love are great, but overall, not super impressed. I'd rather go to Sephora where I can pick and choose what I can get.
Cheap quality, peels easily, some shades are very thick which makes them stringy and others are too think and need four coats
I signed up for their monthly club. I find that i like typically half of their polishes. Some are too thick and some are too runny.
I found it to be gooey and not spread very even over the nail I had joined the club but cancelled it after my first shipment I'll stick to my opi it never fails and they have amazing colours as we'll
I do not own a many Julep polishes. They have a nice selection of colours, but the price point is not that great for what you get. The formula tends to be a bit too thick and gooey and I tend to only use them once.
I'm not crazy about this nail polish. The colors are extraordinary however it dries slowly and gets pasty and sticky with just a few coats. I'd use it over other brands but overall it's not horrible. I get mine with the Julep subscription. It's okay, I will probably continue using it.
I tried Julep for a few months. I do like the idea of getting a subscription box in the mail every month (this is why I subscribe to other boxes!) but I was just not impressed with this one. You pay $20 a month for 3 tiny nail polishes which, in my opinion, are not that high quality. They are just like any other polish out there. I quit getting the box after 2 or 3 months because I just couldn't validate spending $20 on 3 polishes every month. I would recommend getting the first box free! Use the code FREEBOX and only pay like 3 dollars in shipping :)
