Didn't like the julep at all , you get what you pay for. Doesn't last and doesn't have the best coverage
I loved Julep's lotions and skincare but I HATED their nail polishes. Which is such a shame because the color are so beautiful in the bottle. The consistency of the nail polish is very hit or miss. The metallic shades dry well but chip very easily. The regular colors take many coats to get the color to even look good and then it takes forever to dry between coats. It stays wet for well over an hour. Its really a shame because I was so excited to try it. Now I just have them collecting dust in my nail polish box.
Julep is, for me, very much hit or miss. I was part of the subscription service for about 2 years until eventually I cancelled as I became quite disappointed by their prices and shades. They do offer a lot of variety, but it's really only worth it if you're choosing your own shades AND buying at a discount. Overall the quality is fine, but I've had many polishes dry up on me before I was even halfway through the bottle. I do love a lot of their metallic shades though!
I received 2 of these polishes recently and liked the colors, even though I would of never chosen the shades for myself. I had to put on a couple coats to achieve the right color and it looks nice. I don't think I would subscribe to this nail polish subscription, because I like to choose my own colors.
I'm a polish addict, julep often has great deals on mystery boxes. The problem is sometimes you end up with yellows or oranges, I figured out how to finally use these colours and the result was amazing! Bright vivid colours that remained chip free for days!
My julep polishes are my favorites, they last a long time, have a great effect, but i think they're kind of overpriced, that's why i buy them from swaps or in sale
I like the Julep polish formula. It goes on nice and smooth and actually smells decent compared to regular nail polish. They are very pricey but if you have a Maven subscription you can get great deals on them!
It is definitely one of the pricier polishes out there, and there colour range may not be as extensive as OPI's or Essie's. But they are cruelty-free, vegan, and last a ridiculously long time. I work with bleach and wash dishes at work, and even when wearing gloves most polishes last a couple of days. This lasted a week with minimal chipping, enough that I never felt the need to fix anything until the weekend.
If you are the type of person where polish seems like too much hassle, I would suggest getting a couple of bottles of these, and then not worrying about your nails throughout the week.
The selection is good and I love the bottle design; slim, takes up less space, and you can swatch the top of the bottle easily. I'm not sure if the subscription is worth it or not though. I wear nailpolish maybe once a week, so I don't think it's worth it for someone like me. Individually $14 is a bit much for one bottle, when you can get OPI for $8-12 in store of equal or better quality. It is nice that the nailpolish is vegan and paraben free. The smell isn't as overwhelming as some other brands.
I've since changed my mind since I first reviewed Julep nailpolish. I was on the fence about it, mostly because of the price, but I've since decided that it's completely worth it! It's long lasting and comes in a lot of colours, shades, and textures. The best part about it? I thought that each bottle was $14, but most of the time they have fantastic deals where you can get a bottle for under $7. I love getting new nailpolish each month in my subscription box!
