Kellogg's Froot Loops Reviews
#3 in Cereal

Description

The taste, the colour, the fruity aroma. Follow your nose to this breakfast cereal that’s made with corn, wheat, whole grain oat flour and natural fruit flavouring.

I've never tried froot loops until now at the ripe age of 22.

When I was younger and living with my parents the cereal I usually ate was raisin bran and honey nut cheerios. They just never bought stuff like Captain Crunch or other "super fun" cereals. Even when I moved out I never ventured out of the cereals I had tried. Then one day froot loops happened to be on sale and my boyfriend mentioned how he really liked them and we picked up a box.

Now I might have just been hyping it up too much in my head remembering all those commercials and thinking "I could've missed out of 22 years of eating awesome froot loops". These were definitely not that awesome and I can understand now why some kids were totally bouncing off the walls in school.

For someone who thinks of Honey Nut Cheerios, Raisin Bran, and Mini Wheats as "sweet" cereals apparently I was wrong. Froot Loops tasted like full on little crunchy loops of sugar with a hint of fruitiness. The first bite was a literal shock to my senses. I soldiered on and finished my bowl, it was far to sweet for my liking. I am definitely not a candy person, only a few gummi bears or jube jubes is more then enough to satisfy a sweets craving (chocolate is another matter though, we all have our vices).

What really surprised me was that even though I had eaten a decent sized portion for breakfast I was absolutely starving 2 hours later. I had eaten a boat load of calories this morning where did all that energy go? Suddenly childhood obesity made total sense.

Sadly I hated this cereal, my boyfriend finished the rest of the box by himself and if he were to review it he'd probably rate it higher then I did. Maybe I'm just to old and since there is no nostalgia linked to this cereal I wasn't reliving my childhood. I just remember how hyper I used to get when I drank grape crush and I can only imagine how much of nightmare I would be had I eaten Froot Loops for breakfast daily.
