This cream is meant as a hair treatment, but I use it as a styling aid. If I want to smooth my hair when I put it in a ponytail or bun, I apply it in the way you might use a pomade or mousse. I take a handful and smooth it through my hair from the roots up to where I gather it to put it up. It makes my hair soft and also holds it in place. I don't love the smell of this product (it's a wee bit medicinal), but I love the texture and the results.
