These beef cubes are a good alternative when you don't have homemade broth ready. Perfect for preparing a quick soup. Saves so much time and makes it tasty!
I kinda give this a 3 and 1/2 star because I find that it is a little too salty for me and I do not cook nor eat salt and you have no control of the piece you put in unless you start cutting and making a mess..I still prefer the old fashion way of liquid or powder you can control but for a big pot the taste is really good :) just dont add salt
I prefer buying the Organic Beef Bouillon in a paste or buying liquid. BUT... these are perfect for long term storage, especially at the cabin or in your home pantry. I like them being in individual wrapped cubes. I know how many cubes for how much water when making soups etc... I do like adding Beef Bouillon to my hamburger meat when making patties, so I would need the Knorr powder beef bouillon for that. The burgers taste fantastic, Knorr is popular and you can generally trust their quality and 9 out of 10 grocery stores, convenient stores and most little Mom and Pop stores will carry this over any other bouillon cubes.
You can't really go wrong with these. Also, they give you directions on the box on how to use them if you need help
I frequent use the knorr beef cubes in my soups and stews. I like the flavour however I always find I'm adding more. I also find it a great addition to rice. It's a little less salty tasting than most other brands which is a good thing.
I use Knorr Beef Boullion Cubes at least twice a week to flavour soups, make gravy, as a flavour enhancer in homemade hamburgers and meatballs, to make flavoured beef rice the kids love and so much more. Although I prefer the liquid form of it, i always have the cubes on hand too.
This flavour and the chicken flavour are staples in our house. Best gravies, stews and soups are based on these little cubes. Decently priced as well.
I've been using this stuff for years. I really like how convenient it is to use the cubes instead of measuring loose product. It tastes really good, but I don't know if it tastes like beef. It does really compliment beef dishes. I've been using this for years and can't ever see myself not having this in my pantry.
I grew up with stock cubes over the bottled version, so I always prefer these, though they seem to cost a little more and be harder to find here in Quebec than where I grew up. Just add boiling water, stir a few times and your broth is ready to go.
These have a good flavour, with some basic herbs (though you can add more), but as with the other knorr products, the salt content is a little high. If you have health problems, there is also a low salt version, but it can be hard to find!
I like that these last a long time in the store cupboard, perfect for emergencies.
I use a coupons so its cheap. Good for soups and i even add sometimes to noodles for flavour, and for a greavy , kind of cheating when i dont have a home made broth. Not too much or it will be too salty, price is good
I do not buy or use these on a regular basis since I prefer fresh home made broth. I just think these are not healthy for you. However, there are days when I do not have home made beef broth on hand and want a soup base that is more than just water, salt, and vegetables. On those days where I need fresh a beef broth substitute, I would throw one in to add some additional flavor. It's definitely not something I have to have in the kitchen but given the shelf life of these, it doesn't hurt to have them.
