Tasted Good but Not Worth Buying
I was so happy to be chosen to review some of Knorr's products for free.
I was so excited to try this product but was not so happy when I read the instructions and the amount of items I needed to purchase to make this packaged meal.
In order to use this package you need to purchase cauliflower, chicken and raisins. At that point you might as well make the meal using a recipe. It's sad that it took so long to cook and that so many ingredients were needed because I loved the taste of this one but it just wasn't worth the hassle.
I would pass on this one if your on a budget or if you want a quick and easy meal to cook. This sadly, isn't the one for you.

Innovative Healthy Alternative
I received this product free as a Family Rated Advisor. As a busy mom who works full time and has two busy growing boys, I am always looking for new products with a healthy twist. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste, texture and flexibility it allowed for our dinner time routine. Instructions were clear on the package and although I have picky kids it may be something I consider adding in the future! At the right price, this is worth adding to your normal dinner time routine to spice it up!

Loved the raisins
This is a pretty easy way to get a complete meal together in a short amount of time, to be honest it is like an upscale version of the hamburger helper I had as a kid. I loved the flavour of this, adding in the fresh veggies and chicken made it feel more like cooking then just opening a spice packet. This dish has deep flavour which I didn't expect. I would absolutely purchase this again and am interested in trying all the flavours of these now. it was a quick meal that I felt good about serving!

Won't be buying this one
I received this product from ChickAdvisor Family Rated for free to review.
I was so excited to try this Knorr skillet meal with my family. While cooking I had to allow longer cooking time than reccommended for the barley to cook. So it took longer than 28 min. The spices were far too cinnamony for us. My girls (age 6 and 3) tried it but spit it out. They are picky though when it comes to spices they aren't used to. Overall I think this skillet meal might have had better reviews from my kids if they were more used to spiced meals like this.
Oh well it was worth a shot. Thanks!
I am impressed
I am not a fan of Knorr sidekicks so I wasn't expecting much from the skillet meal to be honest. However, I was delightfully surprised by this little dish. I followed the directions to a T to make sure that I could make a proper review, and this dish was amazing in flavor, texture and portion size. I will definatly buy this product again.
Not Too Bad
This meal starter has no artificial colours or flavors and is easy-peasy to make. One skillet and a few simple ingredients is all it takes. I followed the instructions exactly and found that the barley cooked up beautifully and the chicken was moist and tender. It was a little salty but the flavor was fine. I received this product for free from the #FamilyRated Club in exchange for an honest review. #tryknorr #gotitfree
Good but salty
We got this to try for free from the product review club.
It was super easy to make. From stove to plate in 15 minutes. It is great for those rushed evenings.
Husband and I both liked it but found it a bit too salty.
The 2 girls (3 and 6) liked it as well but found it spicy.
We added more veggies than it called for and subitituted brocoli instead of cauliflower.
convenient exotic meal
I I received for free to try and I prepared for a regular meal and didn't tell my family how I made it, they believed it was made from scratch, and that my cooking skw include exotic food? They love it and I was really happy to make them so happy so easily.
You are basically two ingredients away from doing it yoursel
I received this item free from ChickAdvisor to assess. This required chicken, carrots, cauliflower and raisins to complete but when you read the directions you are also advised to lightly flour the chicken too. So basically you get a bag of barley with some spices. At this point you might as well cook from scratch.
The directions are fairly easy. i skipped flouring the chicken as i do not keep flour in my house. Sauted the chicken with some olive oil. added carrots, water and contents of the sachet and simmered. Added cauliflower and finished cooking. Although instructions suggest 10 more mins best to watch the pot at this point. i found at 8 minutes and 2 minutes off heat the dinner was ready.
overall the taste is ok. I skipped the raisins, again as i did not have any in the house, and found the spices a bit sweet so i would have found it too sweet. also i found the recipe overly salty. directions call for added salt with chicken but do not do this as it will be way too salty if you are used to a low salt diet. I like barley. i do try to eat it more and this was a nice change but honestly a spice mix was all that was really needed. not certain i would buy.
