Surprising Disappointed
To start, this was super easy to make. It doesn't get easier than this! Boil water, add the pouch contents and stir and simmer. Actual cooking time was 5minutes longer than the suggested cooking time. I also needed to add another half cup of water. It does smell delicious when you are cooking, but sadly, it didn't win the taste test. We found this to be too salty, texture didn't feel right. My family members did not like the overall taste. No one finished their serving.
We love other Knorr rice dishes, so this was surprising.
Hard, crunchy and tangy
I was really looking forward to this flavour. I love all things tomato and thought this would be great, sadly it was not.
It took forever to cook and the noodles never got soft, they retained a crunch long after the liquid was gone.
The taste was sweet and a little tangy but almost like ketchup, no hint of basil or garlic.
Portions were also small, feeding 2 people at most.
This is a pass.
blah
this one was the one i was hesitant to try because pre-packaged spaghetti and sauce just never seems to work.
sadly i was right about this one.
the sauce was bland and boring- i ended up sprucing it up by adding more garlic and pepper in hopes of it tasting okay.
the noodles didn’t taste cooked either. even though they worked in the other pasta these ones seemed tough.
other than the quick factor i don’t think i will be purchasing this flavour again.
i received this for product for free as part of the family rated club.
Unfortunately not a fan
I received a package of Knorr Selects Tomato, Basil and Garlic with Volanti Pasta for free from Family Rated in exchange for my honest review #gotitfree
While I was very grateful for the opportunity to try this pasta, unfortunately, as with the other Knorr products I received, this one really wasn't up to scratch either. The sauce thickened a bit better and quicker than with the pesto volanti pasta, but the noodles never really softened and the taste just wasn't very strong. I like that the new Knorr Selects don't contain preservatives, artificial flavours, or colours, and that they direct customers to use water rather than milk. However, using milk and olive oil rather than milk and butter or margarine would have improved the taste and texture. Also, despite using the olive oil and stirring as directed the pasta still really stuck to the saucepan. Overall, I would not purchase again and would not recommend to friends.
None for us, thanks
I received this for free to try.
Similar to other tomato-based pasta side dishes Knorr has offered in the past, this one was a miss. The tomato taste is too artificial and really threw off the whole meal.
My family and I are taking a hard pass on this.
Gross
I received this free from FamilyRated Club, for testing purposes. This tasted terrible. The taste was a terrible tomato paste that had an after taste as well. Will not recommend or buy again
