I love this eReader. It works very extremely well. I have tons of books uploaded on it and various apps and games which work perfectly fine. Love that I can email, surf the web, play games, and read, and its color. Highly recommend.
I have two kobo ereaders...i love them but the kobo vox is very delicate. i bought it to have a more up to date version of the kobo. about a week into owning it i dropped it on carpet and the screen cracked in three places. it still works but its a pain. ive gone back to using the older one.
I was so excited when the Vox came out, I had my husband go out that day and buy it for me for Christmas!
Since then, I have found a number of issues that make me wish I had continued my search.
1) The Vox charger is short - I have a daughter who likes to use my Vox. Quite often it will need a charge when I go to use it, and the cord is so short that I can't plug it in to the outlet behind my bedside table and still use it.
2) The charger is not universal. The Vox requires a more powerful charger than your standard Micro USB charger. For the longest time they were completely unavailable, but I believe you can now purchase one from their website if you lose it.
3) It is slow! The Vox is trying to exist somewhere between eReader and tablet. As a result, you get a very heavy eReader that is much slower than your average tablet. I was hoping to enjoy some apps on the Vox, but they run so slow that it makes it not worth the hassle.
Plus Points:
My daughter loves that she can have stories read to her by the Vox.
I do appreciate the lit back screen very much.
All in all, I wish i had waited and bought an iPad mini.
I received my Kobo Vox ereader as a gift from my mother in law earlier last year.. I LOVE IT!! I use it almost daily. I love the fact it has wifi and that it is very very easy to operate :)
I've had my Kobo Vox for about 2 months now. I really like it with the exception of a few things. Battery life when in "standby mode" really sucks. I have to charge it every day even if I do not use it. It freezes on me at least once per use. Kobo support was basically non-existent. I emailed them & after 3 days gave up & did a factory reset on it. 2 weeks later I received a response from them telling me to "push the volume up & on button" They didn't even tell me it was a reset & I would lose all my apps & info. Thankfully I already knew obviously since I reset it on my own 2 weeks before that. The volume definitely is not loud enough. Other than those issues, I love it!
Kobo Vox eReader rocks! I love reading now that I have a Kobo Vox. It makes reading fun. Its very easy to use. Downloading books and apps is extremely easy. I like that when you are reading a book you can highlight, look words up in a dictionary, check to see how many pages you've turned and much more. Its great for those members of the family that don't like to read and those that do. Also you don't have to worry about going to Coles or Chapters and them not have your book in stock. Ilove my Kobo
I was extremely fortunate to win the Kobo Vox eReader in an online contest. I had previously purchased a lesser value eReader and was not very impressed with it. I am in love with the Kobo Vox. It functions as a tablet, with Wi-Fi access and comes with a huge selection of available books. The books are very reasonably priced and most importantly, easy to download. The screen lighting is adjustable, which makes it great for reading outdoors or in various lighting. The internet access and available apps for download are an added bonus. It's not too heavy to hold and comes in a great selection of colours. I'm very pleased with the Kobo Vox and am considering one for my son for Christmas. I would highly recommend this product to those considering an eReader.
I received this e-reader as a gift for Christmas. I was unsure if I would like an E-reader over books but I must say I love it. The wi -fi is also a plus for checking email etc. There are many places to buy books and also many available for free. I highly recommend this product!
This is a really nice eReader chapters, Kobo have come out with recently. It has a nice big colour touch screen with good wifi ability. Even if you don't read a lot it's really great as just a small tablet to web surf and check your email on the go. There are a ton of free books to download and all different type of android applications you can buy. It's probably the best edition of eReaders out there since most I've seen (aside from the ipads) have just been black and white colour capabilities.
