Overhyped
I haven’t been this disappointed in a product in a very long time. First, I love the brands mindfulness in terms of packaging as the whole compact can be recyclable. Second, it is fragrance free and I absolutely appreciate that. Unfortunately those are the only positive things I could honestly say about this foundation. The consistency is very weird, I almost thought that there was a plastic film on top of it as it was very glossy. It is very oily/wet to the touch, but it does not feel oily or wet on the face once applied. It does dry fairly quickly. With that being said, I do not think this is suitable for dry or oily skin. The foundation cracked and separated on my face even though my skin type is oily on the t-zone and dry on the cheeks. I will play around it more with different primers and see if I get a different result. But for now, I do not recommend this product especially considering the price.
No More Creasing!
This foundation can be applied using either a brush, a sponge or your fingers. It is full coverage and some people could even skip concealer if there's no prominent blemishes or under eye circles. A little goes a long way. It comes in a wide range of shades. I had light 012, which was a shade too dark but I easily manipulated it with concealer. I have textured combination skin that changes throughout the year and I enjoyed wearing it. It didn't sit or crease in the fine lines under and around my eyes or my laugh lines and didn't cause me any breakouts (huge concern for me with foundations) I used my IL Makiage concealer and setting powder with it and it blended together seamlessly. It has a natural/matte finish but I used an illuminating primer so my face still looked somewhat luminous and not flat. If you have oily skin, I'm not sure if this would be the best for you since it is moisturizing balm texture, it may move around on the skin and separate from whatever powder you choose to use. It costs around $50+ depending where you buy your makeup. I would like to purchase this once I'm done with the one I have, but in a more appropriate shade for my skin tone.
Alot of people were disappointed with the packaging, but the brand purposely made the packaging recyclable. That's why there's no mirror and it's extremely light weight. Still beautiful though.
Works great for others but not me
I’ve seen so many tiktok vids that show how amazing the KVD good apple is so I was super excited to try it! The packaging is very minimal and a bit underwhelming. The case feels very cheap. I chose the tone based on the model. When the product arrived it looked pretty dark so I was worried that it wouldn’t match my skin tone but luckily it did. The product is full coverage like in the vids. Minimal product that covers well. My skin is dry and sensitive. I was hoping that this would hydrate my skin since it is oiled base. Not sure if it’s because I didn’t exfoliate enough or if it was because it was on top of my sunscreen but it was noticeably dry and cakey. I didn’t use setting powder or spray and the foundation would transfer onto my fingers. I liked that it was non scented and did not irritate my skin.
My new favorite foundation
I received this product for #free in exchange for my honest review.
I can’t elaborate enough how perfect this foundation balm is! It’s lightweight, vegan and buildable. It was able to hide all my blemishes and redness without leaving my skin cakey. The apple extract even helped to nourish and hydrate my skin. I used a sponge for a natural matte finish and I was blown away!
This is going to be my new go to foundation. It’ll so light that I’ll even be able to wear it daily. Did I mention it’s also long-wearing and the packaging is recyclable?
