This foundation has been my go-to for the past couple years. The great thing about it is that it can offer heavy all-over coverage or just light foundation, and it often replaces the use of concealer for me. It's super buildable and can cover everything from dark circles to blemishes. My skin generally tends to break out and I have never had problems with this foundation. It lasts all day, but the only time I've had trouble with it is in hot summer months, when all your makeup melts off anyway. Overall I'd recommend this product even though it's a bit pricey - it lasts me about 6 months at a time and to me that's worth the price tag.
Tried just. Swap of this foundation and it is very thick. The finest bit would last for 90%of your use. High in price but seeing as it is extremely full coverage makes it worth it.
Formula: Being highly pigmented --you need just the barest amount at a time-- so if you need to build up coverage I suggest you work really fast because it drys down matte to a powder-like finish rather quickly even though it seems like a better formula allowing for a smoother application. It provides light to medium coverage and feels lightweight on the skin while giving you decent all day long wear. However be warned this is best suited for very oily skin types as something in the formula is meant to keep oiliness at bay. I don't really consider myself as having dry skin -- it's more like normal/slightly dry in the winter and oilier in the summer --so while this this foundation absorbs rapidly I was able to counteract the issue with a really good serum booster and a moisturizing primer before application. KVD makes a primer elixir that is meant to work with this make-up. I have yet to try it but I'm mentioning it here for those who wish to use the two products in conjunction. It's also very tricky to apply -- you need the right brush and after several attempts -- I found that a firmly packed round airbrush foundation brush works best and it's better applied by blending the product in circular motions. Trying to stipple the foundation with a flat head foundation brush just increased the pasty look of the formula. Another great application technique is by using the Beauty Blender sponge -- keeping in mind to pat the make-up quickly with the sponge. I would refrain from trying to use this on skin with dry patches as it looks best on days when your not experiencing any issues. Shade: Light 42 is a perfect match for fair skin --with no red/beige/dirty yellow pigments-- it's slightly neutral even though the description says pink undertones. While the formula feels like an improvement in my opinion --it could use a little more moisture-- but with patience and practice you can get away with the minor flaws here. Who else has been waiting for this foundation to go back in stock? Stay Beautiful! XOXO
A little goes a really long way with this product. It's got amazing coverage, though it's designed to cover up tattoos it really erases all the little marks on my face. It may be expensive but it lasts a long time and is a great may to cover up spots
This product has been my ultimate favourite! It has such a high coverage, which is what I'm looking for when I break out or have red patches on my face. The only downside to some is that it might look "caked on", but if you apply it was a wet beauty blender, it will go on smoother. It is also very build-able.
Best foundation for full coverage although it can be a bit dry so moisturize and prime well!
This foundation is also quite tricky to find a colour match as it oxidizes and becomes a bit lighter so get a sample from Sephora before purchasing.
It is quite price i believe its 43$- 50$ but a little goes a long way.
If you have under eye circles this is great without concealer and it leaves a flawless finish!
I would consider myself a "heavily" tattooed young woman. I was going to a very traditional wedding in a catholic church and decided to be respectful and cover my tattoos. While I could have thrown on a sweater, I decided to give my recent "Lock It Tattoo Foundation" a try. Worst. Purchase. EVER.
I started with my little finger tattoos and they covered for the most part but looked slightly cake-y and you could see the difference in shade between my skin and the foundation. I then proceeded to cover-up a slightly more colourful one on my arm. Mostly black and grey with a bit of pink shading. It was so thick on my arm, you could obviously tell I was trying to cover up my tattoo. I ended up removing all the foundation and just wore a sweater.
Such a waste of money. I would return if I ever received it as a gift.
This foundation is very high coverage, I don't need to use a concealer with it. However, they discontinued the lightest shade - which was the best match for my fair skin. The next lightest shade matches when I put it on but it oxidizes quickly and by the end of the day I'm a fabulous shade of orange. I usually mix it with a lighter foundation so I can get a better match
When I orginally bought this foundation I hated it. It actually sat on my vanity for awhile. Turns out that i was just applying it the wrong way. This foundation is absolutely awesome. I work 12 hour shifts in a residential care home and this foundation literally lasts my whole shift! I wish I could say the same about the rest of my makeup! Absolutely love this!
