Basics
I purchased this at marshals on sale for around $30. I was looking around for it everywhere. To date, since changing their line up, they no longer have this product at sephora in Canada. I do believe that it was about $60. I enjoy it. I am a fairly basic person, so the shades make for a great nude look. It would be perfect for someone just getting into makeup to play around with. They blend together quite nicely as well. I find myself reaching for this one on a regular. I hope they bring it back to their line once re branded.
Very smooth finish
I love this palette but I do wish there were more options for this palette as I can only use two of the shades, and four are too dark for my skin. These are very easy to blend but it does leave your skin feeling a bit greasy, but if you add some setting powder over top you are good to go (:
Nice palette for highlight and contour
I use this palette as an all over face setting palette. I focus the lighter colours on areas I want to highlight and the darker ones on the places i want to contour. it works well for everyday use to set down my foundation. It also lasts a long time since there is barely a dent in my palette after about three years of use.
I didn't know contouring you eyes were a thing
First things first. I loved the packaging. It’s very details and even the mirror is detailed. I got the rust pallet and it’s the perfect quad for me. The colors are very pigmented and very usable for either natural makeup or or a night out with the vibrant orange. And the amount of product is perfect.
so-so
This is okay. Very average. When it was applied on my face at Sephora, it looked great so I purchased it instantly. But then I realized that it makes me quite oily. Strangely, I've never had that experience with other blushes, highlighters or bronzers... It happens even when I put on my setting powder over it. I'll save the product until the fall or Winter, but for now, I'm not sure why it's making me so oily so quickly. I definitely don't have that issue without putting it on though. However, I may be the only one who had this problem. It's a pity because I've heard such good things :(
Works really well
Not too warm of a contour and the bright powder works well for under the eye and to carve the cheek bones after applying the contour! Very bendable with a light hand!
Kat Von D Cosmetics
Kat Von D Shade & Light is an eyeshadow contouring palette made up of the velvety Matte neutral shades for that defined, neutral smokey eye. The price point is the only drawback. Make-up Revolution has the perfect straight up dupe of this palette. Ultra Contour Light & Shade. Colours and formulation is identical!
Not enough!
This products have had some amazing revIews. I really like the colours in the shade and light kit. It also lasted a long time. Blends well with the KVON D shade and light contour brush. I just thought the pans seem to run out so fast. I didn't think I would need the refillable kit for an extra $8-$10 bucks. But I'm regretting not purchasing that one now. I think I will experiment with other contour palettes for now.
Easy to use
I recently bought it and this is my first contouring palette. It was expensive for me but after using it I felt it was kinda worth. The packaging is good and it includes a guide but I think they could have made the guide and instructions better for the first time users. Also, including a brush would of been better.
Great, but I don't use the 4 other shades!
I was looking for a contour palette, and a worker at Sephora suggested this palette to me, because it was the best bang for your buck in the store. Honestly, I have nothing against it; the contour shade the farthest to the left works really well with my skin tone, and the complementing highlight shade works well against the shade. My only complaint is that I really don't use the 4 other shades. Still debating whether I will repurchase when the shades I use run out, since it seems like a waste that they'll go unused.
