I didn't like this sunless tanner. I've had great experiences with L'Oreal Paris sunless tanning products, but this one didn't make the cut. The Gel glides on nicely, but it doesn't absorb nicely like a spray or a lotion would. It actually left my skin feeling very sticky. And because it didn't absorb quickly, it left me with a lot of streaks. I don't think I'll be buying this again.
I tried this product, I have like a long hate relationship with it. I stopped using it for a while, and picked it up again in the store, and I applied it all over my body. It was so streaky and orange, and it had a very strange smell. I didn't like the shimmer all over the body. It did leave my skin feeling smooth, but I do not like it anymore.
This does carry a funky smell with it and you can actually smell it worse if you start to sweat BUT it does work. I dont tan what so ever and this left me bronzed and I only needed one coat, I find with other brands i need several coats to get the bronzed look. If you use way to much you do look like you rolled around in a bag of doritoes so use sparingly, you dont need much anyways. A little goes a long way. It does take a while to dry so be prepared to stand there buck naked until your dry! The only thing besise the smell that I dont like about this product is the look of your skin when it starts to wear off, it comes off in patches so you might look a little funny for a few days.
This stuff has a horrible smell to it. It really stinks. The color you get looks great, if you're just concerned of having it for that one day. After it gets all blotchy and you literally have to scrub it all off or try to re-apply daily to keep the color. The color came off on my clothes as well. Horrible smell and product!
THIS STUFF STINKS !!!!! oh my goodness, does it ever stink !! this was my first ever self tanning moisturizer and after using this, i actually havent used any self tanning moisturizer for years (5, to be exact) until last week . i LOVE being tanned but i hardly tan (or burn. yay!). when i was younger, back in highschool, before i knew all the scariness of the sun, i would lie in the sun for hours, turning every half an hr, but would barely tan. i was out on the beach for 4 hours and tanned slightly while everyone else burned and started peeling the next couple of days ! so i tried this out .
i ABSOLUTELY HATED it . i used this for my legs to test it out . thank god i did . i exfoliated in the bath before trying this out . smuthered it all over my legs like how i normally would with moisturizers. after applying, just as it absorbed and dried, i start smelling something ... self tanner stank !!!!! i cant express my hatred for this product. it made me STINK for WEEKS ! that nasty something rotten smell of the self tanners . and you CANNOT make it go away even after baths after baths ! it didnt help that it was during the summer time when i used this. ohhhhhh if this was a person, i would smack it soooo hard in the back of their head and yell i hate you on top of my lungs.
color wise, it was pretty good. i definately saw color and my legs looking more tanned. BUT WHO CARES ABOUT THE COLOR WHEN EVERYONE JUST WANTS TO RUN AWAY FROM YOU FROM THAT HORRIFYING SMELL ?! oh i HATE HATE HATE HATE this stinky product .
I liked the results initially....not so orange, not too unpleasant of a smell, but after a few days, it looked blotchy and I had to literally scrub it off with a loofah.....in all I was disappointed.
I have olive skin (1/4 spanish) and had an insane time trying to find a self tanner that didn't turn me orange. i've used pretty much all the self tanners you can find at a drug store until finally i settled for this product. i usually hate L'oreal products so i did not have high hopes but i was really suprised when i didnt turn orange after a few uses (or any for that matter) and the smell isn't that bad, no rotten pancake mix smell! i find that i can use it on my face every other day for a nice glow without breaking out. just make sure to exfoliate really well before applying, use a light moisturiser on knees, elbows, and any other very dry area before applying self- tanner, and never apply in a steamy bathroom, it makes all self-tanners streak. it also has a really nice subtle shimmer once it dries.
Self-tanning season is here again. I've tried most of the drugstore brands (Jergens, Banana Boat, Nivea, Neutrogena, etc) and have always found self-applied tanning creams/mousses/sprays hit and miss. I'm super fair, so application mistakes or patches show up really obviously on my skin. The smell is usually kind of horrible. Getting the product to rub in evenly all over is stressful. Hanging around naked while you wait for it to dry feels silly. It inevitably leaves marks on your sheets, your favourite white shirt... you get the idea. But Sublime Glow has a lot going for it.
First of all, I love that it's more liquidy, because it spreads faster and more evenly, and I don't work up a sweat making sure it's 'rubbed in' enough. It dries really fast, there is virtually no waiting around, and it doesn't stink. My sheets and white tops are unstained, and if you do get a faint streak or patch, you can just even it out the next time you apply it.
Colour-wise, I'm not tranformed into a bronzed goddess, but I'm happy. Don't bother with the Fair formula, even pale creatures like me can upgrade immediately to Medium. Because it's a gradual tanner, the colour is more subtle than straightforward self-tanners, but what you give up in colour pay-off you gain in control and a more believable effect. I can do just my legs, for instance, and they'll look smoother and and darker but not out-tan my arms.
The shimmer is also great as an all-over skin enhancer, and makes your skin look extra dewy at night. The product's moisturizing aspect is also much better than other gradual tanners I've tried, it really leaves your skin soft. Safe-tan away!
