    Teinture

I like this hair dye. But the one i bought is red purple. so it faded pretty fast. But i still consider this as a good hair dye as it does not have strong smells etc.

After years of coloring my hair with permanent dyes, and having it look dried out, frizzy and the color of shoe polish, I decided to go with a semi-permanent dye.

I am very happy with L'Oreal Healthy Look. It does dye darker than the color indicated on the package. I have dark brown hair with quite a bit of grey in the front, and I use the Medium Brown (5). It leaves my hair a rich dark brown, with lots of shine. I leave it in slightly less than the time recommended so that it doesn't get too dark or dry out my hair.

I don't think it lasts through 28 shampoos, though. After about 3 weeks, my greys are pretty prominent. I also do not like the smell, but that fades after a shampoo or two.

I love this product! I have been using it since Christmas when I wanted a change from my blonde hair. I went a bright vibrant red and it looks amazing! Yes it does fade over time but that's what I wanted as I didn't want anything permanent. I also only need one box and I have hair that falls to the middle of my back. It makes my hair look and feel amazing!!! :)

As the box said if you are thinking in between colors pick the lighter one. I had natural dark brown hair and I wanted to make it a bit lighter, so I purchased medium brown. When I washed my hair, my color became much darker then it was before ! :( Very disappointed and cant wait for it to wash out! The color shown on the box was much lighter. I just hope that this hair color will eventually wash out with no trace! Also I didn't notice any significant shiny hair. I had much better results with just using henna !!! Maybe it will work for someone, but I didn't get the result i wanted.

I was really looking forward to trying this out as it fit what I wanted exactly: a demi-permanent hair colour which was mild and would cover my emerging greys. I have less than 5% grey. I'm colouring hair which was virgin other than a few highlights from a few months back. I have coloured my hair years ago and know what I am doing. Bought it and read the instructions very carefully. Then came the adventure:

    - I realized immediately that I should have bought 2 boxes for my just-below-the-shoulder hair. There would not be enough product. I immediately changed to the 'touch-up application method'. This was still not really enough hair colour to properly saturate the hair. I concentrated on the new growth area.

    - 10 minutes... does this start when you have completed the full application? The application takes a while since you are going section by section getting to the roots. I did 10 minutes as soon as the application was done. It was too much. The result was much darker than the box colour. My highlights are now mostly covered, although the shade I picked was very-slightly lighter than the highlights. This will fade with subsequent washes... but still.

    - Although this was on my hair for about 15-18 minutes from the time I first started the application, the greys were not covered! This is unacceptable. Whatever developer they have used instead of low-level ammonia is not very good. (Also with the excess colour saturation, its not very controlled)

    - if you have longer hair, make sure you have a plastic hair clip handy, or you will colour your neck/shoulders like I did. Whatever your hair touches, it colours. I had used conditioner around the hair line, so that was okay. I accidentally touched the wall with colour, and washed it with soap immediately, but it still ruined my paint job.

    - washing it out was super easy, and it smelled nice. The conditioner is amazing and my hair felt better after than before. My highlights were double process so my cuticle was rough... this smoothed it.

Overall: Loved the shine, the smell, the feel of my hair. However, it was a waste of money since it didn't cover the grey (even with the extra 5 minutes they suggest) which was the whole idea of buying it.

I was looking forward to trying this product. I had recieved a coupon for a couple dollars off and decided since my greys where showing i would give it a shot. I picked my colour got home and put it on, i had left it on for the time it had said and followed every step. I loved the colour when i was done (had picked out a deep red) and was pleased with it. When it came down to the first wash it had completly washed out and i was stuck with having to buy another brand after just buying this one. I had written the company and they where very considerate about my situaton and sent me a certificate for another brand of my choosing from their line. I am pleased to say that even though this product didnt work for me, i give credit to L'Oreal for looking out for customers.

A while back I was lucky enough to attend the L'oreal Gloss and Glamour Gala, where I was among the first to try L'oreal's Healthy Look Colour Gloss for myself. My hair had never been coloured before, so naturally I was super nervous. But I soon found out that my nerves were unnecessary – healthy look is not a permanent hair dye (it washes out after approximately 28 shampoos) so even if you don’t totally love it, its not permanent!

My hair is as dark as you can get … BLACK. I was afraid that the colour gloss wouldn't make a difference in my hair, but it really did! I used 4AR Cool Chestnut Brown and my hair came out dark reddish brown, with a hint of golden shine.

Seriously I cannot applaud L'oreal enough for the shine factor here. It is INCREDIBLE!!! I was already blessed with naturally shiny hair, but this colour definitely steps it up a notch!

For me the colour lasted more than the 28 washes, because I have been using L'oreal's Everpure Shampoo and Conditioner system, however even though it has been more than a couple of months, hints of the colour are still there. I am not sure if this would be the case for everyone, but just know that the colour may not 100% come out despite the fact that it is temporary. It is most certainly not as noticeable now as it was when I first coloured it, but in some lights (especially bright office fluorescent lighting) it still shines reddish brown.

Overall using L'oreal's Healthy Look Colour Gloss was a great experience. I cannot believe how glossy and gorgeous it made my hair look. I would recommend it without a doubt to anyone who has never coloured before, or even to those who have but want to experiment with a different colour.
