I had run out of shampoo and conditioner needed to pick something up fast. I tend to colour my hair at least once a month and decided to try Loreal Vive Pro Color Vive. Boy was I unimpressed. When I poured it into my hand the first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelled somewhat chemically. It wasn't as flowery or sweet smelling as I am used to. For me this shampoo/conditioner is quite generic. There is nothing special that stands out or brings a wow factor. I'm going to keep looking around for a really awesome shampoo/conditioner for coloured hair.
I should preface this review by saying that usually I am reluctant to review shampoos because I don’t find they have a significant effect on my hair either way – I never seem to notice a huge improvement or a drastic adverse effect (this could perhaps be because there is no significant difference between one drugstore brand and another, but I digress). This shampoo is no exception – I didn’t notice a significant change in my hair.
I tried this Shampoo because it was on sale, and also because my hair stylist told me that Loreal makes drugstore hair care products that are most similar in quality to salon brands. It smells nice, lathers well, and my hair feels clean after use. As for the overall appearance of my hair – I did not notice a significant difference in texture, manageability or scent. Overall, a mediocre product, worth the price you pay.
I am a big fan of the L'oreal line. I have yet to find a shampoo from this line that I don't like. This is one brand I will always stay loyal to because it has always softened my hair and made it look healthier than ever and at a great price!
