I was curious about primer as it was the new essential product to have.
This product is very cute and girly. A pink souffle texture. Very smooth
When applied on my face at first it leaves my skin smooth but then it gets heavy maybe 10 minutes after applying. I didn't see any real improvements on my skin whatsoever
I have had breakouts too.
Not a product i would buy again.
So I do think this is is an okay primer. It is not silky like most primers are, it's more like a cream if anything. I bought a high-end primer and this drugstore primer and tested them for a period of time with drugstore foundation. With this primer my skin what super oily in a matter of a few hours. I have oily acne prone skin so I use a primer to fill in my pores and keep my skin matte. Also my makeup did not last at all. This product might be great if you have dry skin but it didn't do a thing for me.
What I do not like about this product is that the jar is small so you go through it pretty fast.
It costs too much to use on a regular basis. I like it otherwise. I have oily skin and this doesn't clog my pores.
I have a very mixed feeling about this product...and when I am not sure about a product, I'm usually hesitant to click "recommend"
First of all, the product DID work...my skin was visibly smoother, and foundation just glided right on, without making my skin appear dry!
It also didn't have a strong scent to it, which I think is essential for makeup bases, as with all the smells coming from all your makeup, you don't want yet ANOTHER scent emanating from you!
The price was slightly higher than expected, approximately 17.99, but I received a free redness primer along with it as a package.
However, my biggest problem with this product that will probably prevent me from purchasing it again is the fact that it made me break out all over my chin. I am very particular about acne.
On a side note, I do have very sensitive skin, that is also dry.
All in all, though this product did not do well for sensitive skin,
it really helped with controlling the flakiness that happens from dry skin.
I like this primer, I really do...but the price is just ridiculous! I have the Hard Candy Sheer Envy primer which feels the same and makes my skin look the same, for less than half the cost of this, and the amount in the jar is just laughable. Not impressed at all with Loreal this time.
I've been watching the commercials for this perfecting base for at least a month now and debating with myself whether or not to dish out $12 - $17 for a little magic.
Well, last weekend I took the plunge and I bought L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base and I am completely satisfied with my purchase. Although I don't believe that the cream produces any miracle I do think that it does a great job prepping your skin and smoothing out small blemishes making them easier to cover. I also think it did a great job setting my make up for the day. I think my make up stayed fresher longer.
I think the best thing about this product is the price. The cream produces similar results to some of the more expensive brands ($30 - $50). I will definitely buy this cream again.
