Doesn't feel like it's doing anything

I went for a consultation for an influx of acne that I randomly got but couldn't figure out how to solve, I was advised to get this gentle cleanser since I also didn't want to irritate my already upset skin and make things worse. I gave it a fair trial period of using it twice a day for 2-3 weeks and honestly, it didn't do anything. I know this isn't an acne wash and that's not what I mean, it's just I don't feel like my skin is ever really clean when I use this. The foaming pump is satisfying to use but I've switched cleansers now and I don't really miss it. It does take off makeup, but it's not that great at that either.
