Instead of hydration, it broke out my skin
Quick note - This product is not to be confused with the Lancome Absolue Soft Cream (this is the Rich Cream) that seems to be a fan favourite.
The rich cream is lightly perfumed, easy to apply, and provides high levels of hydration for your skin. It absorbs quickly and can be used as a day cream or night cream. It is ideal for very dry skin.
For me, unfortunately, instead of hydrating my skin, it causes me to break out in tiny whiteheads within a couple of hours of application. I tried it 3 times on separate occasions to confirm the cause of the break outs is the product and not something else and sadly, the product is the culprit. Despite having the type of skin this product is intended for, washing my hands prior to using this cream, and only applying a tiny amount, I got the same awful result each time. At the price of $290 per tub, it is beyond disappointing. Thankfully, I was gifted a small tube of it to try before making the purchase so I will not be getting the full product.
After checking the ingredients, it's most likely the coconut oil in it that's at fault for my experience. Though many people with dry skin find coconut oil to be hydrating, it is very comedogenic and others find it just clogs the pores instead and that is my case too.
Besides the breakouts, my skin was soft and felt hydrated but now I'm stuck dealing with little blemishes so I'm sad and frustrated especially since my skin doesn't heal quickly...
This product has great reviews on other websites so I would say if you are curious about it, try a sample of this before purchasing the full product and be aware this is a rich cream intended for dry skin, and it contains comedogenic ingredients.
Note: When creating this review I put the product in "Day Creams" category though it is both, a day and night cream. I'm a little surprised that ChickAdvisor does not simply have a "Face Cream" Or "Face Moisturizer" category and you have to pick if it's for day or night. Anyway...
