I loved how smooth it went on. It also blended very well, but the best part was it didn't make me shiny at all. You dont need to put on alot either unless ur looking for full coverage, which think this would be perfect for.I will be buying this.
I received this product on behalf of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club in the shade 320 Bisque W as my FOUNDATION shade. For reference, I am ~NC25 in MAC foundations, and found this shade to be a good match.
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Generally, I have combination skin - I get oily in my t-zone throughout the day. But lately, as the weather has been cooling down and the air getting drier, my skin has been getting dry patches on my cheeks and forehead. On the first day of testing this product, I prepped my skin with La Roche-Posay's EFFACLAR Mat moisturizer with Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer. I applied this foundation on 1/2 my face and Maybelline's Fit Me Shine-Free Foundation Stick on the second 1/2 for comparison. While they both glided on my face smoothly, Lancôme's had a more buttery texture. I blended both in with my Sigma F80 flat-top brush with ease. Compared to a beauty blender, the brush gave greater coverage (medium w/ brush, light w/ beauty blender), but because my skin was dry, the brush accentuated these dry patches on both sides. With Lancôme's foundation stick, coverage is definitely buildable, however be very cautious over dry patches and acne. I did not set my foundation this day. Within 3-4 hours, I noticed that my dry patches looked the slightest bit better (but still noticeable), and oil started to seep through on my t-zone, which is normal for me. My takeaways the first day were as follows: my product is definitely rich and creamy. It is very easy to apply and blend. It is extremely light-weight after applied (I don't generally rest my hand on my face when I have makeup on, but I caught myself doing so midway through the day). It is compact and easy to carry in your bag for touch ups, travelling, etc. It provided good coverage with a brush, however, emphasizes dry, flaky skin. It claims to leave the skin pore-free and their research results claim that women noticed it minimized their pores, but I did not notice this on myself. On the bright side, it did not sink into my pores either.
SECOND IMPRESSION:
After my experience on the first day, I decided to prep my skin better by exfoliating and hydrating my skin more. I used a moisturizing sheet mask and followed up with First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Hydra-Firm Sleeping Cream the night before application. The morning of application, I used First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration followed with Smashbox's primer. I applied the Lancôme foundation all-over my face this time, blended it out with my Sigma F80 brush, followed by my beauty blender. I set my foundation with a powder this time. My takeaways the second day were as follows: the difference in the final result after properly prepping your skin is night and day. While I felt almost uncomfortable walking around the first day with dry, noticeably flaky skin on the first day, I loved how it looked on the second. I'm sure this foundation would look amazing on normal to oily skin types, especially during the summer months when there is more moisture in the air, or in climates that are more humid in general. Having set my foundation, I noticed it was longer lasting. I was able to lightly touch-up 3 hours after application and saw that about 6-7 hours after application, my foundation was still holding up strong. My blush and bronzer were still noticeable and it did not look like I needed another touch up.
OVERALL THOUGHTS:
While this foundation definitely rivals some of the other top foundations in my collection, I still have mixed feelings. First and foremost, it does require a bit of skin prep beforehand to ensure that dry patches are not noticeable or emphasized. Second, the cost is competitive with other high-end foundations, but you sacrifice the amount of product for portability and convenience. While most of my foundations have a specific 'use' or occasion (ie: everyday foundation, special events, running errands, etc.), I'm still undecided with this foundation. It seems a bit over-the-top for everyday use (esp. on your wallet), but also doesn't give me full coverage like my go-to Estee Lauder foundation does (for Weddings, etc.). Overall, I do like the product itself and I would recommend it to those looking for a matte, light-weight, medium coverage foundation that is high-quality, portable, and easy to apply.
Coverage: Medium
Consistency: Powder-cream texture
Shades: 20 (According to Sephora.com)
Finish: Matte/Soft-matte
SPF: 21
It's a foundation stick, a high lighter, contour stick and concealer all in one!
The shade I picked out based on the series of questions I was asked about my skin colour was great as a contour but I would have to get another stick to try the highlight feature.
Concealer - though it's a smooth application, it comes out looking a bit caked on even with some blending.
Contour - amazing. Flawless finish and made my skin look incredible. The stick had a wide surface so it covers more area. Much better than the thin sticks I have used in the past.
Foundation. - a little goes a long way. I just put dots in different sections on my face and blended. It worked into my skin without a trace and doesn't look like your wearing makeup!
Only down side is that the stick only yields a few cms of makeup. I think being able to buy a refill for it instead of another stick would be so much better.
Overall, try it out! I would recommend it for sure. Loved how it went on and blended into my natural skin colour. It also looks very natural which I loved.
I received this through the product review club.
Cream Contouring is something I do every day and I have tried many products. I really enjoyed the Lancome Teint Idole Foundation stick. It blended super easily and was very pigmented. It was long lasting. I set mine with a contour powder to enhance it's staying power. If I was going to buy this I recommend swatching in the store. I thought my contour color would be alittle more brown grey but it was more bronzey. It still worked well. I would like to try my foundation shade.
I tried this foundation many ways at first the shade matches me so perfect that I decided to use it as an all foundation. It's a light to medium coverage foundation and it's a cream to pouder foundation. The minute it touches my skin it transform to a pouder and as I have a normal to dry skin I did not like it. So I gave it a second try and use it over a liquid foundation and concealer it gave them a boost of light and a set it all and didn't use a setting pouder. And the last way I used it is to clean the edges of your contour and that was the best thing ever as a stick you can draw it but as it transform to a pouder it won't take off any of the foundation underneath and will mix with everything underneath smoothly.. so if you have an oily skin you have to get it if you don't think about using it for something else of foundation like concealer or contouring and lightening the face..
I received this foundation for free to review, and frankly, my hopes were not that high. I've tried foundation sticks in the past and have never truly been a fan. This one was a bit different though. The Lancome foundation stick claimed to be oil free, smudge resistant, and lasts for 24 hours. Let's talk about the pros. The foundation was very pigmented, so you didn't need much to get decent coverage. It had a nice matte finish once you were done blending. It glides on super easily without any tugging or movement of the skin. Cons: The smell reminded me of crayons. It definitely did not last 24 hours for me. Maybe at least 6-7 hours before I felt like a gross oily mess. I have very oily skin and this didn't stand up to it well. By the end of the night all the foundation around my nose was pretty much gone. I love that the coverage is very natural, but buildable. It won't go to full coverage no matter how much you put, it stands at a good light-medium coverage foundation. Would I repurchase? If I had normal to combination skin, absolutely. Because I have really oily skin, I found this didn't work the best for me.
I received the Lancome Teint Idole in the shade 410 bisque (W) to be used as a highlighter and it is absolutely wonderful. It is lightweight and doesn't smudge easily. It surprisingly lasted me so long so I was very happy about that as well. The packaging is also so convenient for on the go, I can just pop it in my purse and retouch as needed throughout the day.
I received the #LancomeTIUstick free from ChickAdvisor.
Love how it is a make up stick you can apply like lipstick. Very convenient especially for my sister who has sensitive skin and needs strong protection on her face from the sun. This saves her a lot of time and effort
I received this product through the Product Review Club. I just got it in the mail on Wednesday so I've only had a couple days to try it out but my first impressions are amazing. The shade matched my skin almost perfectly. I was a bit skeptical as I have used drugstore-brand foundation sticks before and they always made my skin very greasy and it felt very thick. I was amazed with how this product applied and blended so smoothly. Once blending, it felt like powder on my face. I apply streaks on my face and blend with a Sephora Airbrush brush. I have some dry patches on my forehead and I found that it stuck to the dry parts a bit. I usually purchase Sephora foundation for around $30 so this is a bit more expensive than I am used to. Depending on how long the stick lasts, it may be a good value for this foundation. If it lasts a long time I will definitely re-purchase and I would also recommend this to friends!
I received this from ChickAdvisor Review Club #gotitfree. I was sent a lighter shade to apply as highlighter but I thought in order to get a full-on review, I need to apply it all over. Fortunately, the shade wasn't too light and I was able to do that. This foundation stick is very easy to apply. I apply it with a flat top kabuki brush and it is a breeze to blend it out. What I love about this foundation stick is I don't have to set it with any setting powder. I have oily combo skin and this foundation is a satin finish. Not totally matte and not luminous. The coverage is medium and what I love about this is it has the coverage I want but it doesn't make me look like I have tons of makeup on. Only downside of this is the price. It is quite pricey for the amount of product you get. But other than that, I would give this a thumbs up.
