Easy to wear this under my lipstick

The tube is fairly easy to use. The product is a bit thin, so it's easy to dispense more than needed, so some has been wasted. It goes on quite easily. I would recommend starting with as little as possible at first, and then add more if needed, otherwise if there's too much on the lips it can go into the mouth, and it tastes of medicine. It dries well on the lips, and provides nice hydration, and looks good when I apply my regular lipstick over it. It doesn't leave any greasy or sticky residue, which is fabulous!

Very Easy to Incorporate Into Routine

I must say that this cream was very easy to incorporate into my daily routine. It's a no brainer. This stuff really does work, and as the instructions/side effects say, some will experience slight itching; this is what happened to me. This isn't a problem. It says to reduce the amount and/or frequency of use if this occurs. With the amount to use, just a very small drop, this stuff goes a long way. So, with all that being said, I'd have to say that I would recommend this to others, you won't know unless you try. #gotitfree #trylipivir

horrible taste but worth it if it works

the taste will be the biggest thing you notice about this lipgloss. its not so much of a lemon taste but rather bitter/chemical taste. i understand there is some sort of medicated products to prevent coldsore but would be much better if was no taste at all. all i could focus on was the bitter taste.
However, if this product truly does prevent cold sores then i would put up with the taste because its not as bad as having a coldsore.
using this product under makeup is no issue at all you could definitely apply lipstick right over it if needed.

    Definitely worth a try!!

Mild lemon flavour but nothing noticeable once dry. Will be trying it until tube is empty to see if it helps with cold sore flare ups! Fingers crossed!
Once dry, makeup and lip gloss/lip stick applied totally normal! Yippee!

I hope this will be the answer to my cold sore nemesis

I have had cold sores for as long as I can remember and they are awful things. Anyone who hasn't had one can't appreciate the pain and discomfort they cause, let alone the fact they look horrendous. I tend to get them, not just on my lips, but on my nose too. Every year I can get anything from a couple to five or six each winter season and one or two during the summer.

Many of the treatments I have tried are reliant on applying them when you first get the cold sore tingle. But, with me, I find many of my cold sores come up overnight. So. I'm perfectly okay when I go to bed, but wake up with a cold sore, by which time it's a bit late.

Lipivir needs to be applied morning and night, every day. You simply apply a small amount, a little goes a long way, to the areas affected and remember to wait five minutes before applying skincare and makeup products. The tube it comes in is very tiny and contains 2g of product which they say should last 2 months.

I have been using this for a week now and find it very easy to integrate into my routine. As long as I allow it to dry for five minutes before applying skincare and makeup it does not affect them. Lipstick and foundation, for example, go on fine and I've had no coverage problems.

The product is in a gel format that does have a very bitter taste if you happen to taste it, but it soon goes away and I've managed to avoid licking it after the first time. It goes on very easily and spreads well.

I did notice on the info leaflet inside the product that it says it does not offer any SPF protection, so you will need to use another product for this purpose. I personally would do this as the extreme sun can be a trigger for me. It also says it can cause lips to feel dry, so perhaps a lip balm with SPF is the answer.

I really have my fingers crossed for this product. If I don't get any cold sores during the winter months, I think I can safely say it works. I have never gone a whole winter without an outbreak or two.

Lipivir costs $26.99 CND, and I, fortunately, got this one free, but if it works, I won't hesitate to buy it. Anyone who suffers from cold sores will understand that this is a very small price to pay for a cold sore-free existence. Fingers crossed!

I like the idea of a product like this but it's hard to talk about results, I usually only get a CS once a year or so, so I'd have to wait and see if/when I get one? I get that it's a preventative measure and I like that it's the only one of its kind in Canadian markets or I do like that. For that alone I would buy this but did it work? I'll just have to wait and see.

    It does the exact opposite

I received this product and was excited to try it but to my disbelief, I actually developed a cold sore yesterday after using the product twice. I do not know if this is a strange coincidence or if the product caused it, perhaps? In the email from chick advisor it states the product has a mild lemon flavour at first. False. It does have a flavour but most certainly not lemon, it tastes like chemicals and the taste does not go away. I've applied this product to my cold sore in hopes it will speed up the healing process but so far it doesn't seem to be helping. I have to say I'm highly unimpressed and most of all disappointed with this product and do not recommend.

Easy to make part of your routine

I get cold sores all the time. This product was easy to use. apply a small amount twice a day which is easy/ There is a slight lemon scent at first but it goes away once the product dries. Goes on smooth and cool. They i put my lipstick right over it. Would highly recommend to others that suffer from cold sores.. if it stops even one thats enough for me.
