Weird flavour, not for me!

I received this item free. As a sufferer of cold sores for years I was excited to test out a preventative measure.

I didn't mind the product, but I couldn't get over the taste if I happened to lick my lips throughout the day. I thought it was an odd choice as it's something that takes a while to wear off so you'd think that it would be more of an appealing flavour.

During the time that I tried it, I did not get a cold sore which was fantastic. I'm not sure how much of that is credited to Lipivir, I would need to continue using it for longer.

All in all, the product was good. If it were to come out with a different flavour I would be more inclined to purchase it again.

Not the best

I wasn't really a fan of this product. While I did not experience any cold sores during the month I used it I found it to be somewhat of an annoyance. I found the product To be gloopy and would leave a weird texture on my lips. Then my liquid matte lipstick would end up looking chunky or cracked. I could see it not being a problem under a cream lipstick but I only wear matte. Not the best option for me.

I didn't notice any change in how long cold sores lasted. Also never noticed any change on how bad of a breakout there was. I would say this product is not worth the money. Also the packaging although nice and discreet, the size of the tube made a bunch of product push itself out of the tube and ended up being discarded because of it. I wouldn't waste my money on this product.

Lipivir - Coldsore prevention

This is a great product with great intentions. But, I would say that for someone who gets cold sores frequently, a stronger product/medication should be used.

horrible taste but worth it if it works

the taste will be the biggest thing you notice about this lipgloss. its not so much of a lemon taste but rather bitter/chemical taste. i understand there is some sort of medicated products to prevent coldsore but would be much better if was no taste at all. all i could focus on was the bitter taste.
However, if this product truly does prevent cold sores then i would put up with the taste because its not as bad as having a coldsore.
using this product under makeup is no issue at all you could definitely apply lipstick right over it if needed.

I like the idea of a product like this but it's hard to talk about results, I usually only get a CS once a year or so, so I'd have to wait and see if/when I get one? I get that it's a preventative measure and I like that it's the only one of its kind in Canadian markets or I do like that. For that alone I would buy this but did it work? I'll just have to wait and see.

So far so good with the product.

They were right when they said it will have a bitter taste when first applied. So far so good with the results. Fast drying and easy to apply. Adding lipivir to my daily routine was simple. It’s worth a shot for anyone looking for a different soulition to cold sores.
