Very effective if you use this product everytime you brush your teeth. I have notice nothing but good. (and so has my dentist).

Listerine is the only brand of mouthwash that gives me the really clean and fresh feeling, where you know every bad germ in your mouth has been killed. The sensation can be intense, but you know it's working. I found the vanilla and citrus flavors to be less intense, for anyone who does not find it comfortable to withstand. I like the fact that it is antiseptic and kills gingivitis and plaque causing bacteria. I've purchased other brands of mouthwash, but they just served to mask bad breath. This not only freashens your breath, but keeps it feeling fresh for a long time. It has also helped when I've had a toothache and bleeding gums. This got my mouth back on track. I cannot go a day without it!

I also use Listerine when I feel a sore throat coming on. I gargle for about 30 seconds and it has prevented my throat from becoming infected on numerous occasions. Great stuff!

Listerine is a very popular product in spite of rumors going around that it is bad for you. The tingly sensation you get when you use Listerine is not, in fact, from the small amount of alcohol in it, but from the essential oils that are the main ingredients in Listerine. The alcohol acts as an emulsifier for the essential oils- menthol, thymol, methyl salicylate, and eucalyptol. The amount of alcohol contained in Listerine is not harmful when used as a rinse. You shouldn't drink it, but that should go without saying. The products they have for children are alcohol-free as it is hard keep kids from swallowing small amounts. I hope this has cleared up some confusion about Listerine products. They are an excellent product that aids in the prevention of dental caries and dental disease.

Listerine mouthwash used to be a part of my daily oral care. I had used the cool mint and fresh burst, and liked a lot. But recently I found that they have alcohol in it and that's the reason for strong and burning sensation and it only masks the bad breath rather than killing harmful bacteria. So I switched to crest that has no alcohol and safe for use while nursing and children. I gave average rating because of alcohol and strong taste.

I am totally addicted to this mouth wash! My mouth just doesn't feel clean even after brushing until I have swished with Listerine. I have tried all the flavors and I think I like the stronger ones (takes a while to get used to) but the clean feeling and fresh breath lasts longer with the minty cool flavor. The orange one is a good flavor to start with and work your way up!

Other than the INTENSE burn, the original Listerine is great. I only started using mouthwash recently because of my new coffee addiction (hehehe). In any case I ate ice cream on my third day of using the mouthwash and realised it had decreased my sensitivity. I only realised it was the mouthwash doing it when I didn't use it today and bit into the ice cream and almost died of pain (usually happens anyways). SO yeah don't know if this happened to anyone else but definitely some decreasing teeth sensitivity! I use it twice a day, it still burns like a $%^(&!

I use the vanilla mouthwash and it's the best. All Listerine flavors are very strong, but this one is the best. And like the previous reviewer says it works better than any other mouthwash and lasts for a long time. I won't buy any other kind again.

If you can bare gargling for 30 seconds, this product works like none other. It's great to use before going anywhere and before bed etc. It's more expensive than Scope by a long shot, but Scope has liquid saccarine in it (I believe that's a sugar derivative) and if you're using it as a dental hygiene thing, sugar before bed is no good. Scope wears off in 2 seconds while you can taste the Listerine for a very long time after.
