Alcohol Free Mouthwash

Freshness without the Burn

I'm not really a fan of mouthwash for a couple of reasons; I don't really like the mint flavour and I hate the overwhelming burn. Because of this, I was interested to see how Listerine Total Care ZERO would measure up.

It still has a minty taste, but it's dialed way down, so although I wouldn't say it tasted great (it's still mint), it was tolerable and not unpleasant (they call it "mild mint" and that's accurate). The burn factor is definitely controlled, this is a major selling point, and I'm guessing this is due to it being alcohol free.
One thing I noticed is that it made my mouth feel a little strange, almost dry and for lack of a better description, vaguely numb for a couple of minutes. It contains essential oils (Eucalyptol being the main one), and I suspect that is what is causing this feeling.

Overall I would and will continue using this, because the lack of burn and overpowering taste outweighs the briefly weird mouth feel and it is proven to handle bad breath, plaque, reduce and prevent gingivitis, and fight tartar.

Works really great

I found the taste in this mouthwash was not bad at all! I would definitely use this again. I was provided this item free to review and I would buy it again.

Funny Aftertaste

I’m a lifelong Listerine user so had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately I didn’t like the aftertaste. While using it, it was fine, very mild flavoured. After using it leaves an aftertaste and a sort of film on the inside of my mouth.

Why pay more?

This evaluation is made as part of a study for which I received the product free of charge.
I use Listerine a lot, every day, 2 to 3 times a day. Usually I buy Cool Mint Zero. In the case of Listerine Total Care Zero, I like the Zero property, because it remains mild because it's alcohol-free, but for the taste, I can't decide whether I like it or not. I can't explain the taste, it's quite strange. As for its properties, for me, both are mostly equal. So, to answer the question, do I recommend this product, I would say: why pay more, when you can have something similar at a lower price? Because Listerine products, unless they are on special, are rather expensive and this one is, I think, their most expensive mouthwash.

Too strong for me

@thisisbutterly send me the Listerine total care alcohol free zero mouthwash in mild mint flavour to try out for my opinion. I find most mouthwashes to be very strong and this one was unfortunately no different. It was still overpowering and had an intense flavour. I wasn’t able to gaggle too long as it was too intense for me. I would likely not purchase this product in the future.

Dislike The Feeling and Taste

I had the opportunity through @thisisbutterly to try LISTERINE Total Care Zero Alcohol Free Mouthwash in the Mild Mint flavour, for free, for my honest opinion.

Mouthwash is something I have never liked. I have always wanted to rinse immediately after, which is not recommended. Even though I brush my teeth a minimum of twice a day and floss nightly, I have wondered if trying to add a mouthwash into my routine would be beneficial.

LISTERINE Total Care Zero Alcohol Free Mouthwash is definitely less harsh and intense than mouthwashes I have tried in the past, and while using it I thought I’d found one I could use regularly. While using it the mint flavour is fine, but after use I find that my mouth has that fake sugar taste along with a thickness or coated feeling which I really do not like. I still found myself needing to break my, ‘I want to rinse’ thought pattern after use. Once I did, I realized that my mouth did not have the burning sensation which it has had in the past with other mouthwashes. Having said that, I still wanted to rinse with water immediately after due to the taste and feeling, and had to force myself not to.

I will try maintaining LISTERINE Total Care in my morning dental routine so I can find out at my upcoming dental hygiene appointment if the benefits, like helping to fight tartar and plaque, materialize, but I am not certain that I will succeed.

The Listerine Total Care Zero Alcohol Mouthwash gives me that same clean feeling without the irritating burn. With herbs like eucalyptus and thyme, my mouth feels clean all day! I will say, the taste of thyme is much stronger than I anticipated it to be, so do keep that in mind.I'm not a fan of mouthwash that burns my mouth, it makes it difficult to use and I just skip the step in its entirety. Zero Alcohol

I typically use the original Mouth wash but was gifted the zero alcohol in exchange for an honest review and while I really like their original this one just didn’t quite do the trick for me. I prefer a more minty taste, and I kinda missed the burn that this particular one didn’t have due to it being zero alcohol. However, if you are looking for a mouthwash that does not burn or simply a less mild mint flavor but still has all the benefits than this product is probably for you.
