Definitely strips your hair

I got this product as a free sample in the mail and tried it along with the shampoo and conditioner. The Micro-Exfoliating scrub definitely strips your hair/scalp of build up oils. I've never actually used a pre-treatment before and this was a good experience. I'm not in love with the scent, but it's something I could get used to.

A strange sensation

First, I'll say that I only used this product once and second, I have very long hair. Both of these things likely influence my experience with the product.

Essentially, this product allegedly helps get dead skin and whatnot off your scalp and acts as an exfoliant. I don't know if anyone has tried to exfoliate their scalp, but it really just felt like rubbing sand on my head. With the thickness of my hair I'm not entirely convinced that it even really made much contact with my scalp... And it didn't seem to do anything.
