After years of buying my bleach and hair colouring products from Sally Beauty I decided to take a risk and picked up a box of the L'Oreal Smokey Blue at the grocery store. Going by the box shade I figured I get a nice *light* blue shade. Oh boy was I wrong.

I naturally have dark brown hair that I bleach strips of to near white with no problem. Just applying this product I had bad nose and eye irritation from the strong fumes. Following the direction of 20 minute process time, my poor scalp got burned and I ended up with Vivid Smurf Blue hair instead of a nice pastel shade! Horrid experience that taught me (again) to stay away from boxed drugstore color.

Luckily I know how to quickly strip the colour out so I could actually leave my house. Now I just have to grown out the slight damage to my hair texture.

I was told to stay FAR away from this dye from all my hairdresser friends, but me being me, I decided to give it a shot. I bought a couple boxes of the Smokey Lavender dye. You MUST start with all of your hair being VERY white or VERY LIGHT yellow for this dye to work. Also, DO NOT apply the dye to freshly bleached hair. It will not dye it. Wait at least one week after bleaching your hair to use this product.
My hair was pretty light to start out with, so I didn't bother bleaching it. I applied both boxes of the dye on my hair, due to it being longer, and left it on the normal amount of time. Once I washed it out and dried my hair, I was shocked at how nice it turned out. I was honestly assuming it was going to be patchy and look like crap. but it didn't! It turned out much darker than the box at first, but after a few washes it faded out to a very pretty light lavender. I kept that hair colour for a few months and LOVED it!

I've used this a couple times now, the first for just the ends of my hair and now for my whole head. it looks amazing! It is definitely not what I would call pastel but it looks really good. My only criticism is that my roots (that have not been dyed in a very long time) did not take the colour except for where my natural highlights are. This is great for not having my roots show so I think I actually prefer it this was. Also not really enough in the bottle for people with long hair, mine is halfway down my back.

For this review, I am reviewing Loreal Feria Pastel hair dye in Dusty Lavender. I was very nervous about this product, as all the reviews I saw were not very positive. I decided to give it a go though. Im very happy I did! My hair was a light yellowy blonde prior to using the dye. It took me two boxes to cover my hair. My hair is just a bit longer than my shoulders. I kept the dye on for an hour and when I washed it out, it was a dark lavender. After around 4 washes though, it faded into the most beautiful pastel lavender. I was SO in love! I bought many more boxes. I also didn't feel like it damaged my hair.

Although you will hear a lot of complaints on this product. The steps you need to do is if you want your hair to be the color on the box or near the color. You have to have blonde hair and I mean platinum hair and two if you newly bleach your hair it won't work, you have to wait two weeks to apply, and three for it to last longer if you wash your hair with sulfate shampoos and wash your hair in cold water, do not use high heat or no heat at all and it should be fine. To remove your hair color, just use color oops it will work I used it and it came out right away. It's an awesome brand and loved the blue and lavender colors.

️Yes !! I tried it !! Lol I liked it; wouldn't repeat . It's nice on the silver tones but the blue is just to much for me personally . All in all a great turnout. Not rough on hair , sufficient for a full head of hair . 20 mins process and you have a new summer head .

My daughter has been dying to try L'oreal Ferias "smoky pastel" line in Smoky Blue. After reading several reviews online,I was hesitant as most said the it is impossible to get the color shown on the box. But, we went for it anyways, as she really had her heart set on a new look for March break. 1st, we bought the L'oreal bleaching kit (as recommended on the box of Smoky pastels hair dye) although her hair was already a dirty blonde. We applied the kit and her hair turned a bright gold blonde. Again, I was hesitant, thinking there's NO way we'd get a light blue with almost yellow hair. We gave it a shot, left it in for 20 mins as suggested and we were completely blown away by how accurate the color was compared to the box. SUCCESS!! She LOVED it!! ....unfortunately, it washed out within 2 days :(. So, we're buying another box and are going to leave it in a bit longer this time.
