You need to apply both the balm and the gloss together, if you don't you're in for a real treat... your lips will feel gross. Even when you apply both products I found this dried out my lips so much. Not worth the price you pay for dried peeling lips with color.
I have tried long wearing lipsticks and glosses before and frankly, I was disappointed with the L'oreal Infallible Lipstick. If you do not use the gloss that comes with it, you will be left with an extremely sticky and uncomfortable feeling on your lips- almost like you applied a glue stick to your lips. In addition to this, the top coat/gloss doesn't last very long and if you try to pair the lipcolor with a different gloss (other than the one that it comes with) you will have a cakey mess on your lips. Not only does the Infallible Lipstick crack and chip all over your lemonade or anything you are eating, but it is so uncomfortable, that all you want to do is wipe it off and apply chapstick. If your lips get dry in the winter, but less dry in the summer (like me) try it out during the warmer summer months, if you JUST HAVE TO. Otherwise, use your $10 towards a great lunch.
This product is great for those days when touch ups are out of the question. For me, the colour lasted for a solid three hours before showing any sign of fading. The lip balm is fantastic and served two purposes, it not only added moisture to my lips, but when applied, actually made the lip colour seem richer and more vibrant. I used Eva's Caramel (colour 899) and found it to be a luxuriously rich amber-brown which would be a perfect for the Fall. My only qualm with this product is that I wish the colour lasted longer. All in all, a good product for a good price.
I love this lipstick! I bought it in mulberry, and its wonderful! This is the only lipstick that I can put on and don't have to worry about retouching it through the day. It stays on through meals, drinking, everything! I don't find it to be sticky, and its not a problem to put it on and wait for the colour to dry before putting on the topcoat. All in all, a product that I don't mind paying a bit more for because it actually does what it promises to do :)
Ok, for $13, I expect more than house paint for lips. This is NOT a gloss, ladies. Not even close. A gloss does not dry after application, no matter what the label says. And man, when it dries, your mouth also dries up like the freaking Sahara. That top coat doesn't do a damn bit of good to keep your lips moisturized. It just sits on top of the house paint on your lips and makes it look glossy. When in actuality, that colored layer sits under it sucking every last bit of moisture out of your lips. You'd look like an old prune mouth if you used this stuff every day.
Once the colored coat dries, if you smile or do anything else human beings normally do with their mouth, it cracks. Like house paint! Take some house paint, apply it to your lips, let it dry, go about your normal day, see what happens. You'll get exactly the same effect. THAT is NOT an attractive look. $13.00?? Hell NO. Not even for $1. I've got $1.99 lipstick (NYC) that is of better quality than this rubbish.
Does it last? Unfortunately, yes. I had to use waterproof eye makeup remover to get this sucker off. My lips were all chafed and red afterward. Looked like I had been sucking on a tail pipe.
This DUD went back. The woman at the store tried to argue with me about it. Hahahaha NOT a good plan, lady!
This lip product seems to zap the moisture out of my lips after using a few times but it does what it's meant to do and it does stay on for a long time through eating and drinking. I personally wouldn't use it on a daily basis just because my lips are prone to dryness. It's a good product and I like the smell of it too.
This gloss claims to be long lasting and I scoffed at the idea. I mean, lipgloss that lasts? Ya right! I bought it and tried it because, well.. that's what I do. I buy things just to see if what they claim is true. Guess what? It is! This is the only gloss I have tried that actually stays on! I can eat, drink.. whatever I want and it actually lasts through it all for hours at a time! Kudos L'Oreal!

I got this great lipstick in 2 shades -Mulberry and Mocha. It stays on for 8-10 hours without any retouching.Thats the part I like about it best. the shades are great and I loved it.
I have this in crimson and it's a great, pigmented red. Perfect for when you want to make a statement. I wore it to a wedding and a friend complimented me on my perfect lipstick. Of course, I had to whip this out to show off the packaging.
This stuff really stays put and doesn't leave you with that unattractive line around your lips. Yes, it's a bit drying, but this stuff is way better than any other long lasting lipstick that I've tried in the past. The moisturizing top coat is so great that I would buy this product on its own! Overall, I'm really happy with this lipstick and would recommend it for events where you want to look good but don't want to worry about checking your lipstick in the bathroom every half hour.
