My first impressions of the L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Masque was that the quantity seemed tiny! I have really long, thick hair and tend to need plenty of conditioner to get the job done. When I noticed how small the masque bottle was I was worried I would only get a few conditions out of the bottle and wouldn't be able to provide a fair review.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised with how little conditioner I had to use in order to treat my hair. I found that I had to use way less than I normally do and a little went a long way. After use, I noticed how light and smooth my hair seemed. I usually end up with hair that seems heavy and dry especially during the winter months. I tend to wear my hair up because of the texture of my hair in the winter. (people tend to call it "horse hair") After using L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Masque however, I noticed how easily my hair was to style and I couldn't believe how many compliments I received on my hair. The shine was gorgeous and my hair felt and smelt wonderful!
I would definitely buy this product in the future. The only downside was the price of the product, but if you're like me and have terribly dry hair you should splurge (especially during the winter) to repair your hair.
I really enjoyed this product. My hair is often damaged feeling and lacks shine. After the first treatment i found my hair did a complete 360. My hair is shinny, soft, smooth and smells great. The product leaves my hair feeling so nice that I don't feel the need to add any styling products to my hair. I also found that the thick consistency of this product was helpful in keeping the product where I wanted it as compared to the often runny consistency of other similar products. This is definitely worth a try.
Amazing!!! This stuff works great and leaves my super dry hair, soft and silky. This has to be the best smelling hair product ever! Smells like fresh cut water melon. Mmmm I wish I could eat it lol.
I was really excited to review this product as I have tried the Volumizing shampoo and conditioner and absolutely LOVE it!
First off, my hair isn't damaged but I was feeling like my ends were dry due to the windy/cold winter. So when I got the product I thought, perfect timing! I did use both the shampoo and hair masque every wash which made my hair a little greasy faster than usual. I started only using the masque once a week and saw much better results. My hair felt really silky and clean and the dry ends weren't there anymore. I'd say if your hair is dry and damaged this product is defi worth the price!
Thanks chirckadvisor and L'oreal! (My hair thanks you too!)
This product is not for extremely hard water. My water is almost hard enough to walk on, and I found this product didn't work at all with it. That said, if your water is anything but super hard, this is a great product. I've tried it at several different places other than my own home, and the result elsewhere is great. The scent is not the greatest, but the texture is nice, it goes on well, and stays where you put it when it's in your hair. After the two or so minutes I left it in, it rinsed out easily leaving my hair amazingly knot free and smooth (didn't brush my hair before having a shower). Once my hair was dry it was beautifully shiny and smooth. As for the repair, it doesn't work as fast as some products I've tried, but it does work.
I absolutely LOVE this stuff! My hair is dry by nature, and on top of that I have hair extensions which of course needs lots and lots of moisturing products. This hair mask however, leaves both my own hair and my hair extensions super soft! I've tried so many moisturising masks and treatments on my hair extensions but never found something that was really, really good. But this stuff seriously rocks! And my hair smells sooo good in days after I've used it. It's fantastic and I'm so glad I've found this product!
I feel very lucky to have been chosen to test out the L'Oreal Professional Intense Shampoo and Repair Masque. The first thing I did when they both arrived was open them up to take a sniff. The scent was amazing. Reminded me of when I go to the hairdressers.
I have been using these products since the day they arrived, and I really like them. My hair smells great, of course, but its less frizzy, no noticeable split ends, my hair feels soft and strong, not brittle or dry. I really love this product, my only issue would be with the price, as its way out of the budget that I have for hair care products unfortunately. It might be something that I could treat myself with, but not something I could afford to buy on a regular basis, or use as my regular shampoo.
Other than the price, I highly recommend this. Its certainly done wonders for my hair. Alberta winters are harsh, and my skin and hair normally take a beating.
I was very excited to receive the masque to test. I know L'Oreal Professionnel products can be pricey but work well so I was anxious to try it. The product was easy to use. The scent was not what I expected, I had expected a much stronger scent compared to other L'Oreal products but I liked it. The first time using this masque, my hair instantly felt really soft and smooth. I could not stop running my fingers through my hair! While I am not certain about the reparative qualities, it is definitely hydrating, one of the best products I have used in a while.
I would most certainly consider purchasing it in the future and I would recommend it to a friend
As I received this as a "product review" I have no idea what the price was- but based on the small size I imagine it isn't cheap. I use salon products normally as I do notice they make a difference but was a bit weary as to whether L'Oreal could compete. And they can! This product, used with the L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Shampoo, really made a difference! Easy to use (and I had to travel over the last week - so easy to travel with also due to the size), nice light scent, and very creamy texture were the first things I noticed. I have thicker dry hair and always have issues with frizz. I immediately noticed a resulting smooth texture, less frizziness and softer texture after my initial use of these products - and I have a feeling this was due more to the masque than the shampoo. As instructed on the bottle, I dried my hair after shampooing and washing and then applied the masque and left it for two minutes. I think this is essential to reaping the benefits of this product. I could not stop touching my hair the first few days as I was amazed at the huge change in texture and feel. The only downfall I found was that my hair became so soft and "tame" that I felt I lost some of my volume and it was too flat. I used a volumizing cream to balance the texture out and that really helped. Overall I was definitely impressed and I plan to purchase this product once the sample runs out.
My Hair Description: I have long black wavy hair, very thick.
I color my hair once every two months to cover the white and gray hair.
Age: 38
Scalp and Hair Condition: Normal to Oily
Overall Experience: I have use the repair masked in conjunction with the shampoo. It started slow, a lot of frizz on the first few uses. This happens to me every time I changed to a new brand of shampoo and conditioner, so this does not deter me.
The instructions said: apply after toweled dry hair. Nope, did not have time to get out of bath and towel dry, so I end up applying masque after shampoo. It did well, but not as effective as letting it stay for about 5-10 minutes.
Another trial of mine, I actually went out of my bath, towel dry, apply masque, then went down to change diaper to my toddlers. When I came upstairs to wash it off, the results were amazing after blow dry.
So, from then on, I let it stay longer than 2 minutes, and the results were fabulous.
Ease of use - The Intense Repair masque is in the jar and very easy to use. At the time of review, I have use over 2/3 of the jar, and very satisfied with the results. I will buy another jar personally.
Texture - Just right consistency for a conditioner/masque. I recommend Loreal stick to this mix, its easy to hold and does not do a drippity do!
Scent - love the scent, mild enough, and sexy, but not overwhelming.
Packaging - please keep this in a jar please.
Changes to your hair: improved body, bounce and the frizz started to decline at week 2.
I like my hair down all the time, and it is really nice feeling that the strands are more relax as opposed to those "medusa style" revolting hair strands.
Smoothness- it has improve the smoothness factor for sure. I do Zumba & Body Combat at Goodlife, and after these intense class, you can see your hair drench in sweat and oils. Shampoo plus masque fix it, but again...as I said leave the masque longer than 2 minutes. Probably depending on your hair volume too.
Mine is thick and long...it needs more time to do its magic.
Moisture level - it rinses oils, but leave enough to have that healthy appearance.
Compare to other products you tried in the past? This Masque is a keeper and I will buy another jar for myself.
Would you consider purchasing these products in the future and recommend to friends? Yes, it works for me. Friends with same hair texture and thickness as mine can definitely benifit with this product.
RECOMMENDATION: For the masque, leave it on for more than 2- 3 minutes if you have longer hair. Massage your scalp evenly, then do something else. At one point, I leave it for about 30 minutes, put a shower cap on, cook some breakfast for the kids, and wash it. Results were amazing after blow dry.
Note: my first use was so-so, and I end up using frizz control oil after blow drying. Subsequently uses eliminate need for frizz control oil.
Give it a try, vary the time you leave it on depending on your hair thickness.
PICTURE ( Day 1. A picture of my hair prior to blow drying - see the " medusa style" hair strands revolting on me) . From these days, I tried to leave masque longer, and Medusa faded away.
