I loved the masque it smelled great and coated my hair nicely. It was rich and thick and didn't drip like other conditioners or masques. When I rinsed it off it left my hair silky and smelling great!.
It made an split or frayed ends look great and kept them looking good though out the day.
Cost wise I found it high but it was a nice product so I would pay the price to treat my hair occasionally.
I received the L'Oreal Professionel Intense Repair Masque as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club, and have used the product for a couple of weeks. Like many of the previous reviewers, I found the masque to be better than the shampoo as it left my hair feeling soft and smooth. I liked the thickness of the masque and how silky it made my hair once I rinsed it off after leaving it on for 3 to 4 minutes. The price of the products is a bit high, and I am not completely convinced that it is better than other less expensive products on the market. However, it did deliver results for the period that I have used the product so far.
Again, really wanted to like this product but do not at all. I used it both with the shampoo and even on it's own with my regular shampoo and conditioner and got the same results both times. My hair actually seemed more dry/frizzy, less soft and did not look it's usual self. It seemed dull. At one time when I used the masque after my regular shampoo and conditioner. I got out of the shower and combed my hair after and it was SO knotty and tangled. I was really annoyed actually - I have very thick hair. So I leaned over the tub and rinsed my hair with my regular conditioner and combed again and my hair was then totally fine. So that definitely proved to me that this my hair doesn't like this masque. This just seems like a drug store product with a salon product price tag. I also don't like the jar - would be easier in a bottle or even a pump if possible. If anyone ever asked me what I recommend for dry hair, I'd recommend Joico Moisture Recovery way before this stuff. Better quality and is actually more cost efficient. My hair quality improved when I quit the L'Oreal Professional Intense Repair Shampoo and Masque and went back to my regular routine (Joico).
First of all, I received this as part of the product review club. Even with that said, I would probably purchase this myself because I love it so much, I even prefer it over the shampoo. It is a great treatment and you can really feel it working in your hair even after the first few times! It is a deep conditioning mask and I tend to leave it in my hair in the shower for about 5 minutes and after when I rinse it out, my hair feels silky smooth. I love the way that the clean, fresh scent stays in my hair for a long time and my hair feels very clean afterwards. I love that even a little bit of this product goes a long way towards soft, shiny hair. It even tames all of the frizz in my hair! I love it and would definitely repurchase this and recommend it to others.
Ok first off I received as part of the product review club.
Before this I had never really tried L'oreal salon products. I've tried their drugstore line before and wasn't impressed so I didn't know if the salon line would be anything worth trying. I have seen this shampoo selling for about 20 dollars or so and honestly I was too cheap to spend that much. My hair isn't chemically treated or dyed in any way and I refrain from using heat usually- so I feel like I have less damage to deal with than the average person. That being said, I do still deal with average hair concerns. During winter when its dry out, I get lots of frizz. A LOT, since I have very fine hair to begin with. The cold air really amps up my frizz an fly aways.
As with most shampoo and treatment/conditioner duos, I find the treatment to be the standout product and the thing that I get the most results from. If I had to pick one of the two, I would pick the masque. I'm not 100% sure I would go out and purchase this at full price, but if I did, I would choose this over the shampoo.
Alright lets get to the product. Its a thick cream thats a bit nutty (?) smelling. It's not bad but I don't love it. It has a smooth buttery consistency. After I rinse this out, my hair feels smooth and hydrated. but not weighed down. Compared to Biolage conditioning balm this feels a bit lighter, but in a good way. The Biolage is nice, but its a bit too heavy for my hair. Also, I HATE the smell of that one. I think I prefer this over the Biolage, just based on scent alone. Both of them are pretty heavy duty, so I only use them when my hair is feeling extra dry.
The packaging of this masque isn't remarkable. Standard tub with screw off lid. It can be a bit diffuclt to unsrew the lid especially when my hands are wet and slippery, and I don't really like having to dip my fingers into a product. The Biolage also comes in a tub, so its obviously a standard packaging choice but I wish the person who designed the packaging had been a bit more creative, What about adding a small pump to the lid? Or putting in a squeze tube? *Side note* I re used the tube from Aussie 3 minute miracle to put my biolage in, its so much better that way**
So all in all I really like this treatment, and I glad I had the chance to try it. It's probably not something I would have gone out and bought on my own. Thanks you for sending it, guys!
This repair masque has a nice light scent that is not too strong. It is very light weight and didn't weigh down my hair or leave it feeling oily. I couldn't believe how smooth and shiny my hair was after using it. I will definitely continue to use this product as part of my hair care routine.
Since the time I recieved this product from Chickadvisor, I've had good experiences with it. What I notice differently about my hair when I use this product is it makes my hair feel smoother, shiny and maybe a little bit easy to manage. The only thing I didn't like about it is I found my hair to have not as much volume as it usually does, maybe because I used too much of the product then I am suppose to. I would purchase this product again in the future.
I received this product courtesy of chickadvisor product review club, and it couldn't have come at a better time. My hair's super dry, static-y and frizzy, so I was in the market to try something new. I was really excited to receive this product (who doesn't like presents in the mail!?) and tried it as soon as it came.
The first time I used it, I was so surprisingly horrified!! Chunks of hair came off my head. I mean chunks!! I was SO disapointed (freaked out & scared...), but I waited to write a review until I tried it again. I never write a review upon first use, even if i love the first use, so no different here. Also, I normally love L'Oreal products so I especially didn't want to review based on one bad experience. So I tried it again.
I'm so glad I did!!! The way I use it is this: After I shampoo, I squeeze excess water out of my hair and then saturate my hair with this treatment. I shower without putting water in my hair, until at least 5mins have passed, and then I rinse out the treatment. I rinse a lot as this stuff is very heavy and I don't want my hair weighed down. I was a bit scared trying it the second time, but no abnormal amount of hair was lost! In fact, 'normal' amount of hair wasn't lost either! I hardly lost a strand or two! Since then I've blow dried my hair, and air dried my hair, and both left my hair feeling very soft. I didn't use any other styling products just 'cuz I wanted to see how this product works by itself, and it was great! I didn't use any anti frizz products, but my hair still didn't frizz or static.
Why the first experience was horrendeous is beyond me. I was suffering through a really high fever when I first tried this mask, so perhaps it was a contributing factor? Whatever the case, the many times I've used this since then, I've only been happy with it. I would highly recommend this to others, and if you have a bad experience with this product (or any product) when using it once, give it at least a second chance to redeem itself.
I would absolutely love if L'Oreal came out with a leave-in conditioner or moisturizing spray / mousse with this line.
P.s. I noticed the second ingredient was blacked-out on both the shampoo & treatment ... I wonder why?
Editor's Note: L'Oreal Professionnel has informed ChickAdvisor that the 'blacking out' of one product ingredient is due to a translation oversight on the packaging and is in no way intended to be deliberately misleading. The blacked out ingredient is "water".
L'Oreal Professionnal Intense Repair Masque is fantastic! It makes my hair soft and manageable and has a great, not over-powering smell. I have not been using it everyday because it's an "intense" treatment and I didn't want to over use it, and it's also a small container, so I wanted to make it last longer. It does not say on the bottle if it is a daily product or a weekly product, I thought this was very unusal.
I did not like the fact that you are supposed to towel dry your hair before you put it on. To be honest, I didn't really do that... I just squeezed out the extra water. I don't think it would really make a difference because the first ingredient is water, anyway. Speaking of ingredients, the second one list is blacked out!? On both the masque and the shampoo... did anyone else notice this on their bottles?
I thought the container, being a pot, rather than a bottle was a little awkward to use in the shower.
Overall, a great product. I would buy it again!

The first time I tried this masque I followed the directions on the side of the container. I towel dried my hair after shampooing, applied the conditioner, and rinsed. In the morning, before work, I definitely cannot be bothered to towel dry my hair, apply this conditioner, wait, and rinse. For the rest of the week while I tried this product out I applied this masque just like regular conditioner right in the shower. Rinsed out very well and left no build up or residue behind.
Because of the thick consistency I only needed a small amount to thoroughly coat my hair. Coupled with the shampoo this conditioner really pumps the moisture and shine back into your hair. As well I was very surprised at how well it was able to detangle my hair with such a small amount.
I would definitely repurchase this product.
