I’ve been using this shampoo on-and-off for about 3 weeks. It has a lovely smell and makes your hair so smooth & silky. But almost so smooth that you can’t use it everyday without your hair feeling heavy and looking flat. I’d recommend only using it once or twice per week if you have normal hair (like myself). It surprised me the bottle was $30 and so small. I don’t tend to buy expensive shampoo so wouldn’t see myself buying this product based solely on the price tag. Overall, worked like they outlined but too expensive for my liking.
First I would like to thank L'Oreal and Chickadvisor for letting me try the L'Oreal Professional Intense Repair Shampoo. I usually don't splurge for expensive hair products so I was thrilled to be able to try this salon worthy product out!
I have shoulder length hair that is extremely thin and is dry due to daily blowdrying and straightener use. The first morning I tried the shampoo out I immediately fell in love with the melon smell. I only needed a very small amount of the shampoo for it to be effective. I continued on with my blow drying and straightening routine and noticed immediately how soft and healthy my hair felt without leaving any residue at all. I couldn't believe that a shampoo could actually make such a difference in my hair.
I would definitely recommend this product. I also believe the sleek bottle will last a long time even though it is on the smaller side. I would probably alternate this shampoo with another one in order for my hair to keep the soft effect (after a few days of using the shampoo my hair did not feel as good as the first time I used it) and because the cost is on the higher side.
Thanks for letting me try this out! :-)
SMELLS LIKE BANANAS!! FEELS LIKE BUTTER!!!! MMMMMM....
I have very long, thick, somewhat wavy hair, down to the waist. I like to wear it like the 70's actresses, with lots of volume and va-va-voom. So I blow dry, flat iron, a bit of spray and backcombing. And, I do dye my hair, yes. So it takes a lot of abuse. I went to a salon and asked what deep conditioner would be good for me, and they recommended that. At first, I thought yeah right...probably the same as drugstore stuff, only named slightly differently and stuck on these salon shelves for triple and quadruple the price. But, I must say I was pleasantly wrong. This stuff is great! Not greasy at all. But makes my hair super soft and shiny and manageable. The flat iron just slips through like magic. And I get compliments on my hair every day, so it must be doing something good! This is truly beautiful stuff.
I Love this stuff! Im so happy I dont have to buy Kerastase anymore, it works just as good-maybe better! I wish I knew about this a long time ago. I like the smell of this better as well, and if it saves me a lot more money than Im all for this product! L'Oreal made Kerastase, so it makes perfect sense. Highly reccomended!
This was supposed to be for the Masque review, not the shampoo! whoops!
Thank you ChickAdvisor and L'oreal for allowing me to try this product!
I was really excited to try this product because I absolutely LOVE the L'oreal Professionnel Volume line. Let me begin. With saying my hair isn't really damaged, normal to oily and I lack volume (hence why I love the volume shampoo). I noticed my ends were starting to get dry due to the cold and windy winter months. After using the shampoo and conditioner my hair was shiny and feeling hydrated. I loved the results because it gave my hair life again. However, because I have flat hair and generally do not have dry hair after a few consecutive uses I did notice my hair getting greasier quicker than I would have liked. PLEASE keep in mind though I do NOT have dry hair. I also noticed that peopke didn't use the hair mask everytime they washed their hair, I did use it everytime so this could have happened because of that.
Overall, it did what it said it would, moisturized and repaired my dry ends. It smells AMAZING and makes your hair feel ultra soft while adding shine. I would definitely recommend this for the winter months or if you generally have dry hair. Although it is expensive, it is worth the price if you need the moisture. You don't need to use it everytime you wash your hair. I will now use it once a week at least!
Thank you L'oreal and Chickadvisor!
I received the L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Shampoo to test and add my review, here are my thoughts. Firstly the smell is great, very "salon", nothing to cloying or fruity sweet. The consistency is lovely but I found it didn't lather well. I have colour treated hair and I found that this product really did nothing to maintain my colour and I would say my few grays came through much quicker than if I had been using my "usual" shampoo. I also found my hair to be much drier, it really did nothing extraordinary in terms of conditioning or smoothing my hair. I also found my scalp seemed quite itchy after use, not sure if this is related to the shampoo or is simply a symtom of our drier indoor climates this Winter. All in all, I would not recommed this product, I don't think it works all that well and I was shocked to learn of it's retail price. I think I could find better drugstore solutions.
Thank you to Chickadvisor and L'Oreal for the chance to try the L'Oreal Professional Intense Repair Shampoo and the Intense Repair Masque.Perfect timing too as I just ran out of shampoo.
I have brown wavy shoulder length hair that is usually dry at the ends. I started using the shampoo and hair masque last week and absolutely LOVE them!! I use the shampoo daily . It lathers well and has a nice fragrance. The Shampoo comes in a small bottle but I only need a small amount to keep my hair squeaky clean. The hair masque I use twice a week and really am amazed at how soft my hair feels those days.
I would highly recommend to use these products in the winter for dry hair. A bit costly in my opinion.
The first thing I noticed about the shampoo was the smell it smelled like I had been transported to a tropical island, I could hardly wait to try it out.
When I finally go the chance to use this product I was disapointed , I didn't need much product to make my hair feel like silk even before conditioner. It left my hair soft and manageble my husband loved how touchable soft it was and smelled great .
This product did seem a little higher in price then I would normally pay but its effectiveness made up for it and I would buy this shampoo
I received the Shampoo from the Product Review Club and I'm glad I did. I don't think I would have paid that much to try a shampoo, but it is quite good. You don't need very much to get your hair clean, which explains the small bottle. I have very thin straight hair. It leaves my hair soft and silky without making it look limp or weighed down. It does a good job of moisturising my hair, as the ends don't seem to be drying out so quickly. I'm not sure I would use this as a daily shampoo because of the price, but using it a couple times a week to give my hair the extra moisture it needs would be great! I would definitely recommend it.
Firstly, thanks to Chick Advisor for sending me the products to try out and review. I was very excited to give these two products a try since my hair is in definite need of some care and recuperation. I decided to try the shampoo separately for a few days, then used it together with the hair masque to see if it makes a difference.
HAIR PROFILE
I have long black layered straight hair. Years of using heat appliances and getting my hair coloured, has left the ends of my hair extremely brittle and dry. At the same time, I have a problem of oily roots so it's difficult to find the right shampoo that leaves my hair moisturized but not oily.
THE PROS
- The product lathers really well. Even with long hair, I did not need to use a substantial amount of the product to wash all of my hair. It rinses well, does not leave any residue and does not feel heavy on the hair. I like that it has a light banana/melon scent unlike other shampoos with artificial/chemical scents.
- The product has de-tangling properties. After using the product, I noticed that my hair is slightly softer and easier to comb after washing.
- It slightly moisturized my hair and I like the fact that it did not leave the roots of my hair oily.
- My scalp is sensitive to shampoo change and I was worried that trying out a new product on my hair would leave me with dandruff but luckily I didn't have that problem with this shampoo.
THE CONS
- It is expensive. For the price, I would expect to get more product but the bottle is smaller than most drugstore/high-end shampoos.
- While it did leave my hair slightly softer, for a product of that price, I expected it to do more. The ends of my hair were only slightly more moisturized than how it was before using the shampoo. If I wanted my hair to feel only SLIGHTLY softer, I could just use a less expensive conditioner and get the same result instead of spending the $30 on a shampoo.
- After using it for a few days, my hair got accustomed to the product and it no longer left my hair as soft as the first time I used it.
FINAL VERDICT
I probably would not buy this product again. For the price, it was not as effective as I had expected. After trying out the shampoo separately and then again with the masque, I would consider just buying the masque because it has better moisturizing properties and worked more effectively than the shampoo for my hair.
Since my regular shampoo and conditioner brand changed their formulation, I have been searching for alternatives and was very excited to try L'Oreal Professional Intense Repair Shampoo.
The shampoo bottle is on the small side especially for one having long hair. However, the shampoo has a creamy consistency whereby a small amount goes a long way.
Does not have a drying lather, which is good, and rinses well. Wet hair feels strong and manageable. Has a light melon flavored scent.
Really like this shampoo. It is all going to come down to how long the bottle lasts for me because this product is on the pricey side.
Thanks Chick Advisor and L'Oreal!
