Very messy

I've been colouring my own hair for over 10 years and I have never encountered such a messy hair dye.
The colour is beautiful, it did cover my here and there grey hair and has been lasting without too much fading but the application was so liquidy! I was very careful as usual and I ended up getting splashes on my counter, my floor and my walls! This has NEVER happened to me, I was so furious!
Now I have nice hair but I have to repaint 2 of my bathroom walls...ridiculous!
