I've been using this cleanser at night with my Clarisonic, right after my L'Occitane makeup remover and on the nights that I don't use the Amore Pacific Peel. Here's how they describe it "This creamy, gentle cleanser is rolled up with mineral-rich nori seaweed to nourish the skin, cooling aloe vera gel and a sprinkling of sea salt for a super gentle exfoliation." Whenever I use this as my cleanser, I wake up with glowing, soothed skin that looks nourished and healthy. I think it's working!
I decided to give LUSH a go, and it's so amusing to see how everyone boasts about this cleanser, when even the lady at LUSH does not recommend it. I bought the small tub to try out. Sure, it smells and looks super healthy and good for your skin which is great.
On the other hand, the main problem using this product was that you're expected to put a small amount in your palm and mix some water into it. Fair enough? No. I did that and it just looked like watered down mud - not even thick enough for me to consider a cleanser. Alas I tried again, thinking maybe I put too much water the first time, but nope, same thing. I did this one more time and got the same result.
By the third time I just decided to rub it all over my face and what not. I did not really feel it cleaning my skin. I felt like I put watery mud on my face and rinsed it off. My face didn't even feel clean, and the price? Wooh, too expensive for a tiny pot. Especially considering that you'd probably have to use more than just a 'bit' to get it creamy enough to actually do something to your skin.
The great thing was I complained about it at the store and the sales lady told me I could bring it in and exchange it for something else. I'm trying some samples she gave me now and we'll see what happens.
I love anything lush, I have sensitive skin that always has a red tinge to it, capillaries!! I decided to try this, not easy to take out of the pot, and hard to mix into a paste with water, feels good on, sea weed mixed in gives the product a bit of a scrub feel. I used it a couple of times and liked how my face didn't turn beet red once the product was washed off my face..... but I followed up with a toner just to see how clean my face was, and to my horror I had quite a residue of makeup left one. I was quite dissappointed. :( Sorry Lush I usually love your products!!!
Aqua Marina Facial Cleanser is not my favourite LUSH product because it has a strong medicinal scent and it does not provide any exfoliationt. However, I do give it credit for being an ultra creamy cleanser. Aqua Marina does leaves skin feeling clean and smooth. The product sorta helped my acne troubled skin by balancing out the natural oils and calms redness.
This seaweed facial cleanser sells for $10.50 per 3.5oz. It is wrapped in Nori seaweed, which is high in vitamins and minerals to soften dry skin. Aqua Marina is calming to the skin and effective to use. The pink mousse feels so soft and creamy that your face won't even notice it's being cleaned! Your face is left fresh and brighter. It has calamine and aloe vera to soothe irritated skin, especially when you've been sitting in the sun or caught in the wind! It also contains Kaolin, which cleanses deeply and tightens your skin a little. It's not greasy, it leaves you with a clean feel, and it improves the texture of your skin. The bad things about this product is that it's smell isn't very flattering... It smells like SEAWEED! It also doesn't remove makeup so be sure to take it off before you use this! This is best for sensitive and oily skin. It's gentle enough to use daily. This product is a great buy for LUSH! Hope this helped!
No, that's not a maki roll, it is however, wrapped in seaweed. I was sick of how gel cleansers robbed my skin of essential oils, made my skin itch, left dry patches, and made my skin feel like I had my hair pulled back in a high pony tail. Although I love Lush's Angels on Bare Skin, it's more of a scrub/exfoliant, and I felt that might be too harsh to be used everyday on my dry sensitive winter skin. So I went back to Lush and they recommended I try Aqua Marina.
Texture wise, it is smooth with no exfoliating particles and feels just like moist clay.
As to it's cleansing power, it's not really up to the job of makeup removal, it won't even remove liquid foundation T.T. As a result I only use this in the mornings where all it has to do is clean off sleep gunk.
I found that it was easier to break off a small piece and rub it onto my wet face instead of mixing it with water before application. That way it was less messy than having to transfer the mixture onto my face and losing much of it along the way xD
I've used about 300g of this cleanser so far and it hasn't broken me out. It leaves my skin feeling clean, but not tight. I'd say it's comparable to using a cream cleanser in terms of mildness. I wash my bf's face with this (he scrunges his face and screams that his dirt and germs are dying T.T) and afterwards I noticed that his face was significantly brighter and glowy!! @.@
Whilst I was going through the "Vitasoy breakout of 2010", this cleanser really helped to sooth my poor inflamed skin and helped it heal.
The only cons I can think of is that it does smell a bit funky at first, however you do get used to it. Also I think this expires in 3 months so if you're not gonna be using this every day, get only a small amount. Oh and the seaweed will inevitably get soggy n look gross T.T
I love this product! When I first tried it, I really did not like the application and washing it with water. But, I got used to it. I put this product in a little jar, add water, and a make a liquid/paste. Whenever I need it, I just spread it on my face. Usually, I also use it as a mask and wait for it dry, then wash it off my face. It leaves my face soft and moisturized, which when I first used it felt my face was unclean. There are at times where the product will leave a white residue, but I usually ignore it because the product is so good!
