I love the solid shampoo bars from lush.I have tried most of them and Karma is my favorite but this is also one of my favorites. They are so convenient and last such a long time. They lather up really well and always leave my hair feeling clean and smelling great. My hair also always feels really soft and so manageable after shampooing with this. These solid soaps are perfect for traveling lightweight and they don't take up much room in a suitcase.
Even though this is not specifically meant for oily hair it does the trick! I can only wash my hair every second day. My hair is oily and if i wash it too often it tends to fight back and get greaser!! However my hair was looking horrible the 2nd day, until i tried this shampoo. It lasts forever and makes my hair look great.
My hair goes almost to my waist. My hair only get greasy at the roots, and with this bar I can choose where the suds will go ! I wash 3/4 of the way down, but I don't wash my ends. Since buying this shampoo, It has lasted me about a month and a bit and around half the bar is left. So worth the money ! I have absolutely no split ends and my hair smells great. A positive re-purchase.
Lush ....you can not go wrong with this product. Its great for kids to because they are in control of the solid form shampoo instead of having the liquid which usually gets into the eyes at one time or another. The smell is awsome. Not for kids under 5 because they will try and eat it.But really impressed with this shampoo idea.I had a free sample of this when I purchased something from lush once and now I return to buy more and more products. What a great idea
Confession: I'm a recent Lush converter.
Yes, it took me this long to appreciate Lush and everything it represents! It's scent can not be overlooked- when you head into the Eaton Centre from the train, you can literally smell Lush from the entrance.
I took a chance at their shampoo bars. I wanted a bit of a change from the usual liquid bottled shampoos and heard good things about their bars, so after juggling a couple of different scents, I decided to take "Seanik".
The bits of seaweed found in the bar is kind of neat and it guaranteed hair to look clean and healthy, which is good for a couple of days!
Hooray!
For a busy person such as yours truly, washing hair does take up a substantial amount of time- knowing that my hair will feel clean for a duration of two days was a godsend (slight exaggeration there).
What I didn't expect was how Seanik made my hair incredibly soft and shiny. I have thick straight-set hair, so I usually have to fiddle with a couple of hair products to get it smooth and soft-looking, but Seanik did the trick!
Bonus points that Lush is all natural. I definitely recommend.
Cheers!
If you like a lot of lather in your shampoo I don't reccomend using this product. The solid shampoos can take a bit of getting use to but the ingredients don't strip your hair like a lot of other shampoos. Make sure you get one of their tins cause the bar gets a bit messy once it is wet.
Another great shampoo from Lush. I love their solid shampoos. The bar lasts for a long time.. It's not my favourite, but it does the job well. It cleans the hair... I like the smell.... I like it!
Let me tell you about my hair first:
I have dry, color-processed naturally wavy/curly hair that is just past my chin. It's fairly coarse, but I don't have a lot of it after countless times getting my hair thinned out. I'm lacking in volume.
Using it:
I wet my hair and run the bar three times over my hair, once on top, and once on each side of my head. I massage it into my roots and squeeze it gently through to the end of my hair, being sure not to rub as it creates tangles. I rinse and follow with conditioner. It cleans well, so I usually don't have to repeat the shampooing process.
What I love about it:
Okay, first of all, can I just say that it SMELLS AMAZING? The site lists it as being scented with mimosa and orange blossom. I personally can't pick out either of those scents, but I can definitely smell the Jasmine. The scent lingers really well, too. As for cleaning, it cleans amazingly. Almost too well for my dry hair, but I just remedy that by only shampooing once. It has sea salt for volume, and nori to nourish the hair. It honestly really reminds me of Big Shampoo in a solid form. Also, I love the packaging. As in, no packaging at all. Each shampoo bar replaces three 250 mL shampoo bottles, which I thought was great. And while this is completely unrelated to the bar itself, I love that the LUSH website lists all the ingredients with a link to a page with what they actually are.
What I don't love about it:
I do find it a bit drying at times, and I do wish it were a little bit cheaper, though it wouldn't stop me from buying it again.
Ingredients: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Irish Moss Gel, Perfume, Nori Seaweed, Sea Salt, Lemon Oil, Mimosa Absolute, Orange Blossom Absolute, Jasmine Absolute, Cocamide DEA, Limonene, FD&C;Blue No. 1
Overall, I think that the Seanik Solid Shampoo Bar is a great purchase at $9.95 CAN and I would definitely recommend that you try it if you enjoy fairly cheap natural products.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I can no longer use this as my daily shampoo, as I need something to help deal with my dry itchy scalp. I still use this once weekly as my clarifying shampoo, and I find it works great for that usage as well. It really leaves my hair squeaky clean and my hair feels about ten times lighter.
I also wanted to point out that it does contain SLS, as do a fair amount of their other shampoos. If you were looking to avoid sulfates, I probably would not recommend LUSH shampoos to you.
